Those are very bad options. It won't cost under $25.

well we dont know how long it is or anything..........
it could be less cus Valve doesnt have to pay for the boxes or manulas or anything cus its being released via steam.........

Am I wrong to assume it's also being distubuted in box form?

According to this site, it will only be released threw Steam.

I don't think it should be more than $25, for the mere reason that we're not really paying for any new features, just more gameplay.

Could you spare us a link?

With the new EA partnership this could have a box release right?

will aftermath be as long as half-life 2? because if its much shorter i dont want to pay that much for it.

EA is getting to big. It's already publishing HL2 and CS:S (which I hope that they dont screw that part because they probably will somehow) and now they are getting Aftermath...what is the video game industry coming to!!

Almost all of EA's games are CRAP (including BF2, but i still play it for some reason) and hopefully Aftermath is going to miss that train and not be as crappy as the rest...

It is intentionally shorter since its an episode.

About £20 I say

Dude.. EA has nothing to do with the making of any of Valve games. They just publish them.

i know that. i just think that EA will mess something up when publishing the games. It would be EA if something didnt go wrong.

Yeah, you only get a problem when the developers go "ack! EA! Flee, flee before them!" like what happened at westwood and then things start to go down hill....
I reckon about £20-£25 for aftermath.

BF2 clearly isn't crap. Lots of developers have below-par offerings. Your problem here is that EA is the biggest fish in the pond right now.

Ok. Would someone mind telling me WHY EA is a bad choice? VALVe is not letting them re-create it. Just publish it. How is EA different than Vivendi, except that they aren't French?

You'd think thus they'd be better :E

The reason people hate EA is their milking of well-sponsored franchises to earn ****loads of cash.

I liked the first C&C game and Red Alert. I mean... they were corny but fun. The sequels though... oh man.

EA bark at developers like dogs demanding games to be cranked out factory line style. The quality and continued support gets worse and worse as the developers tear their hair out.

Umm... a little off-topic & off-secondary-topic (flaming EA):

What I want to know is, why is VALVe publishing Aftermath via Steam only? Is it to prevent piracy, or they simply don't have/want to waste the money for putting Aftermath in shops? It's gonna suck getting a credit card, and converting loads of cash into meager 30-40 dolars just to buy a game... Ugh.

I can pretty much fully guarantee all future Valve games will be available in stores on the shelves, being as EA is a publishing conglomerate.

I'm saying with 100% doubtlessness, Aftermath with be both Steam and retail when it's releases.

EA wants money. They publish Valve's games now, while Valve still self-publishes through Steam. I really don't think the big guys up at EA will let Aftermath go unnoticed one bit.

I'm telling you, if they won't retail it I pirate the sucker. :|

And Valve will ban your account!

I don't see why Valve even needs to bother with a publisher. Not only do they probably have enough money to publish it themselves, but by the time HL3 comes out (their next boxed game, you'd assume) everyone will have broadband anyway.

I mean, even I've got 4 meg broadband. Come on.

The irony is that there were a load of people on one of the BF2 forums I visit who were worried about the effect Valve having a partnership with EA was going to do to the BF series.

It seems like alot of people don't get the fact that EA are only distributing the game, and think that Valve are now going to make all of EA's games.

Or maybe that forum just has particularily dumb members?
