couple of noobish console questions

Can i change the max decals in hl2? Looked for the variable but couldnt find what looked like the right one..
Are any changes i make in the console still there when i restart the game or does it default?

Its `/¬, the key below escape for me. if your keyboard is on uk english that should work, and its #/~ on us english i think. Maybe you have to change your language. Dunno what the bind is.

Scandinavian keyboards can't get the console down. You have to create your own file somewhere (I don't remeber), but that didn't work for me. But I can live without the console.

It did work, you just can't provoke it from the main menu, only while mid-game.

How to bring down the console if tilde(?) doesn't work:

Well, you could launch the game with -console parameter, so you get the console when the game starts. Then you can bind a key - F1 - for example to bring the console while in game.

Like this:
bind f1 toggleconsole

The key below esc doesn't work with scandinavian keymapping, I guess.

You might want to type this command in the console:

r_decals x

Where x is the number of decals drawn. I haven't tested this, but I think this is the right cvar.
