ok i just passed hl2 tonight (put it off a while, not sure why) and i gotta say the last chapter of the game was quite intense and one of the best game experiences i've had. Anywho, a few question...

1) when yur getting transported around on those weird cage thingies u ride in at the end, r those weird zombie like thingies supposed to be combine without uniform on? if not.. what r they?

2)at the beginning of the game, it doesn't really explain how u got in that situation, why r u riding in on a train? who put u there? where have u been? maybe this has been answered somewhere in the game but i guess a lot of it went over my head.

thx for yur time

1) They are stalkers, they are salves that were fomer humans.

2) G-man put you there, to start a new mission.

1) u see how they get turned into stalkers on a screen in Nova Prospekt
2)the g-man teleporter u there, remember when they guy at the door said he diden't see u get on?

^^^ burky, those are not stalkers they are combine without uniform, stalkers are people enslaved and infused with mech.

I have a feeling jon didnt play or remember hl1

no, u see one on a screen, press it and it shows one beeing operated

i did play hl1 quite a bit, passed it several times. I guess i missed some subtle thigns at the beginning. I'm just curious as to what the purpose of the gman putting u there were. How would he know exactly what u were going to do and where u'd go and eventually destroying the citadel. Seems like somewhat of a fluke how everything turned out how he planned.

I was just saying that it didnt seem like u understood who the g man was and what he could do...

yeah i figured, i just editted my post cause i figured what u meant afterwards.

The G-man flukes not, he knew exactly what Gordon would do if played correctly, i believe it was Breen who said "You prove a usefull pawn in the correct hands" or something along those lines anyway. I wonder if that means that Breen and the G-man have history. There was a tone about Breen when he said "in the correct hands".

1) Stalkers, humans who couldn't accept the Combine transforming get turned into these slaves.

2) At the end of HL, you were put into a suspension of time for yourself. G-Man was preserving you for when he would need you again. He knew if you at least meet the Resistance, you would eventually take the Citadel down.

Agreed, the GMan is too slick to fluke stuff. Also, that Breen line is not the only thing that hints to his knowledge of GMan's existence. That whole thing at the end when he talks about negotiating for your cooperationg, seems to suggest that he knows you're something of a mercenary. Then you get Alyx and Eli shouting Breen down...so do they know about GMan too, or at least suspect something?

It's like Gordon is the only one who doesn't know he's a merc, cos the GMan is so skillz0red at putting him in situations where he thinks he is fighting for himself.

As for stalkers: dehumanised citadel slaves that have had their hands and feet cut off, and organs removed.

No gman is an alien, if he was god there wouldn't be any problems in the first place

god cant directly intervene, and neither can gman, he isn't corporeal. Gordon is like Jesus, sent to fix up the probs with humanity

I think gman teleported you there. The reason why the guy will say to you that he didnt saw you getting on the train. I think gman stopped time before he teleported u there.

Well, I don't think gman stopped time to get you there, he just wasnt looking when you appeared
