I don't even know what a normal one looks like. You can buy a real drum pedal for like $20 though...

It's mostly plastic, with a very thin aluminum sheet on the top of the pedal to make it look sturdier than it really is.

The project was about using a real drum pedal instead of a piece of plastic.
