While going through old files of Blue Shift, I found a sound file that said

"Hello, the Automatic Diagnostic Announcement System, welcomes you to the Black Mesa facility. Remember, have a secure day!"

If any of you remember, there was often a Male GLaDOS equivilent anouncing things alot in the old hl.

Is this another thing Aperture competed over with Black Mesa?

No, they running on Windows. It's even more evil than GLaDOS.

har har.

Well, it sure sounds like another GLaDOS. Admittedly, dumbed down, but still one that is everywhere in Black Mesa.

It just announces things, no control over anything.

BM's Automated Announcement system has more in common with the Overwatch announcer than GLaDOS in that the first two are not sentient programs.

I sort of miss the Combine announcer. The new one's weird.

Combine announcer? All I'm thinking of here is the Metrocop blurb.. unless that's what people are talking about.

GLaDOS is diffrent, she has apprently human-like behaviour, which makes her decision making much much better... well, atleast in theroy.

It's just an announcement system. And it could even be a human that was doing those announcements (not the one on the tram). Cause, HL1 did have some pretty bad audio. Not that it was bad for the time, of course.
