Erik Johnson said:
Half-Life is a good contrast to Dota, where to a person that worked on that game no one wants to play that game ever again. We have a huge amount of respect for it, and when I look back at it at that product I think about the people I worked with and how the fans reacted to it. But the idea of sitting down and playing it does not sound fun at all.

Oh god not this awkward presenter again.

In regards to the actual content of the video, someone practically said the same thing a few years ago.

This is ringing bells of similarity between ID and Valve, none care about working on their flagship IP's.

The funny part John Carmack even agreed with Valve's "silent" strategy.

Not until Bethesda (who everyone hates), told them to get their shit together and make it.

And Doom 4 is looking more like its going to be shit. And apparently with Valve having HL fatigue, I wouldn't be surprised a similar fate (or never coming out).

I'm not sure what's Half-Life fatigue. They haven't done anything even remotely Half-Life related for years (Portal 2 doesn't count).

It isn't about "not caring", it's about wanting to create a certain type of game and having the time and/or patience to make your flagship franchise work without pointlessly milking and expanding it for no reason. Just because you rarely hear about something doesn't mean it isn't being worked on or that it doesn't exist. (Or that you even have a right to know it exists).

This guy is a riot. He does so many things wrong. How do people justify putting a camera in front of him? Also GET A DAMN TABLET, put your big ass laptop away.

I remember when he talked about how Chet Faliszek was the 'creator' of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

"No, I'm the writer. Just the writer."

Not publicly, but they had been struggling with Episode 3 for years. We could only imagine what those "twists and turns" were that Gaben was talking about.
