Exclusive screenshots

Cool site, I like the idea of 'unlocking' a new vid each day of the week. Gives you something to look forward to. Aftermath pics are nice too - new soldier looks mean.

So it's official, you do NOT play as Alyx. She helps you as you kick Combine Ass. :)

But in a way I don't like this. Because that means protecting her from dying by risking your own life to save hers, because if she dies, it's game over. :(
I hope this isn't like this in Aftermath. The "if she dies, it's game over" part I can live without.

Valve has been working alot on the AI, I'm sure she won't be a pain to have around. She never died once for me in HL2.
 
But there she was helpless, because she was deactivating the generators outer defences, you can't blame her AI, you can only blame yourself for not doing a good enough job to protect her :P
 
Very nice screen shots there, alyx looks like shes gonna be kicking tons of ass, cannot wait now :D
 
Are the videos not loading for anyone else? When it says "Ready to Play" and I click play it says "attempting to reconnect".

i've had her die once in the combine teleporter room and also get stuck in the geometry (the raised platform) in the same place so only the top of her was visible. i'm sure she'll have a million hitpoints in aftermath though
 
F#%king great, now sound works but not the video. I downloaded about 5 codec packs too.

Use vlc media player. It works for pretty much everything and you don't have to worrry about the codecs fu*kin up your comp because they are made into plugins. Just google vlc media player and you can't go wrong. Oh and you'll probably also have to download the movie from the site. But it's easy and they are just sitting there ready to be grabbed

Thanks for the advice, that did absolutely nothing but I just found the download section. The movs work just not WMAs.

EDIT: VLC NEARLY CRASHED MY COMPUTER ATTEMPTING TO PLAY 47 VIDEO FILES SIMULTANEOUSLY. Apparently the damn program doesn't do it in a list like any sensible person.

Weird It worked fine for me and everyone else that I know who uses it. It must just be your comp.
 
i thought aftermath has all the nice little HDR stuff, these screenshots, while still awesome, look the same as hl2....maybe im just mistaken with all the posts about "will DOD source have HDR, will CSS have HDR, will HDR run on my pc" looks like im now one of those posters!!!! NOO!

Hopefully, it will just be too hard to survive without her helping you, and you can continue for a little while but just get inundated<sp? with enemies
