I just finished the demo.
I put the guy in the stall, took the knife, wiped the blood off the floor, washed my hands, and I left the diner in no hurry, so I don't look suspicious. I also payed my bill. I got out of the diner, ran down the street, jumped in a taxi, and went to Brooklyn. The cop found the body and he told everyone in the diner to stay put. I wasn't even near the diner. When the cop found the body, some homeless guy was on the other side of the screen.

yeah the bum is outside the emergency exit to your right after leaving the restroom, theres a exit there too...kane just says 'hmm a bum'' or sumit...
 
I played the demo of this last night and, whilst it was extremely short, it showed a lot of potential. The controls were a bit fiddly occasionally, but still it looks promising. Besides - a new adventure game? That can only be a good thing!
 
You should use a gamepad for this game. Right analogue stick is for the actions (took me about 10 minutes to figure this out, by this time I JUST managed to hide the knife, but the cop arrested me in the bathroom).

There are a lot of interactions, but I wonder how much you can actually change the story... No doubt whatever action you take when leaving the diner (taxi, train station etc), do you think you'll just end up at the same destination?
 
I've just pre-ordered me a copy of this on the strength of the demo. The only issue I have is that Kanes walking animation seems to missing a few frames.

im not sure if you can change the story at this point but like the director said every action has a reaction so for example if you speak with the waitress, which happens if you sit one of the stools at the diner counter close to her, she'll tell you you look white as that tissue or sumit, so when the investigators come she'll be able to remember you more, same if you dont pay the bill.

you can also interact with the other people in the diner who will remember you, if you stay in the toilet until the cop comes he'll remember you etc, you can leave fingerprints etc.

remember you play the investigators too...

also did anyone notice the white piece of paper under the table kane is at, i dunno what it is, i cant interact with it, is it just a tissue?
 
Hmm... Not sure about this one. Potentially, it could be really cool, but nothing about the demo particularly caught me. Any consequent alteration of the outcome because of my actions was either nonexistent or eluded me. You either escape or get caught. The controls were also a nuisance at times, and I don't like how the character needs to stop and resume every time you turn when running.

And although I am not an advocate for graphics over gameplay, I'm seriously wondering how aged/poor their tech is. How they go from the graphically stunning Omikron (for its time) to this is just something I can't really fathom, especially seeing as how it's not an action-intensive game.

I'll wait for the reviews.

Theres an issue with running, I went into controls and set it up so I used WASD settings, and moved run to left shift.. Worked just fine, on right shift it was messed up.

Im glad to see theres so much interest in this game!

I dont think there is much issue with there only being two endings, you either get out, or get caught. It IS only the start of the game.. When playing as the policewomen I think it will change alot depending on if you talked to people (Know for a fact if you dont pay your bill when you talk to someone there, they will remember you because of it). If you hide the knife you might not find it.

Anyways... September better hurry up.
 
Anyone disappointed by the shortness of this demo - watch the trailer video on the menu screen. There's a lot more in the final game. I'll definately be buying.

Playing as different characters is the most interesting part of this imo.
Apparently, the game switches the control between characters multiple times within a single conversation :o
 
Yes I was, its a great cliffhanger, certainly going to buy the game when its released. Preordered it.
 
I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to get it. My dad saw me playing it during the opening cinematic....
 
I've tried that before, but he kind of believes Hilary and Leiberman. He plays games himself, but he's not big on realistic urban games. Too realistic for him.
 
Ask him if he thinks that cultish possessions are realistic.
 
I really don't want to get him all angry with me. There's still a chance I can get it. He didn't flat out refuse.

Just played the demo of this, and I have to say its pretty impressive. I wasn't sure If i was going to like the control style at first, but its pretty good. The way you have almost all control over what happens is pretty good, and I like the way you use mouse gestures to to do different stuff.
 
i played the demo about a few days ago, and i gotta say, i never been so damn excited about a game coming out except hl2.
 
How could you guys say that this game is good . the replay value of this game is like LOW
 
Not if you play it through some few times, and see how the story changes by what you are doing.

And if you are just gonna play it through 1 time, I still thinks it is gonna be a hell of a kick ass adventure game!!!!!!
 
I wonder how long the game will be if they put all these details into every scene. It better be welllllllllll over 15 hours.
 
I keep downloading corrupted zip files. I've tried fileshack, fileplanet, planetmirror, ausgamers and all of them have had the data1.cab file corrupted.
Any ideas?

This is the message i get:

I had that problem, I just downloaded the zip again and it worked fine. I used the ausgamers link too.
 
Unfortunately I have download from 10 different sites and none have fix it. :(

Edit:
Finally got it to download properly. (!!!!) Awesome demo. I liked how the director talked to you at the start. The controls where easy except for moping the floor and it was cool how the camera splits the screen to show him going to the bathroom. The first time it took me so long to clean the blood the cop caught me. Too bad you can't clean all of the floor.

I'm not too impressed though with how Quantic Dream are making this an episodic game. (13 episodes, one a month).

I really liked Nomad Soul and despite the brevity of the demo, I must say Farenheit is looking really interesting. Especially for replayability.

Where did you read that then? The game is coming out on the PS2 also, I highly doubt that it will be able to cater to episodic content.

Well it could be "worse", you don't actually control when you murder the person, I think it'd be far worse if you DID control him in the trance, and you could choose how to stab etc.:P

What the hell? Okay, so far i'm doing it... I got out of the place, he said to get out of the neighborhood. I ran down one road, and he said I ran too far, had to find another way back. I go into the subway station, and it shows an old man with a scar, which I assume to be me walking towards the screen, and the story ends? EHHH?
 
Raziaar, as stated, it's an EXTREMELY -SHORT- demo, sadly.:p
 
hmm I didn't know there was a subway station, I kept getting in the taxi to leave. I bet choosing your exit has an effect later, like the driver would be able to identify you.
 
Yes staticprimer, read the new GameSpot preview, like with the waitress, if you forget to pay your bill, and she checks up on you, albeit you're not noted by the cop etc, and you can calmly walk away, this means she'll remember you more clearly when giving the polices a "ghost image" of you, so that they can identifiy you, I guess it's the same with the cab driver..

Nah I reckon this'un will be a bit too low-key for them. I have a strong feeling that this game will be good, but it won't sell very well.

What's the name of this game? Indigo Prophecy or Fahrenheit? Honestly Indigo Prophecy sounds lame compared to Fahrenheit.

Indigo Nonsense = US
Farenheit = Rest of the world (?) EU at least.
...and yes, "Indigo Prophecy" sounds dreadful, especially compared to Farenheit.
 
With an intriguing name like Indigo Prophecy it will attract thinking gamers, which (lets be honest) are the only kind that will get any enjoyment from it. Not that Farenheit isn't a good name, it's just that it's already been used quite publicly in America already and therefore would end up carrying the associated baggage.
