Failure to load DirectSoundCapture...

Hi,
I have noticed that when playing Steam games online with other players, my microphone is not picking up my voice. Everything is set fine outside the program. When I try to test my microphone in the 'Voice' menu, nothing is picked up. Whilst I was trying to tweak the console, with advice to a similar problem involving the modification of the values of 'voice_enable' and 'sv_voiceenable' I came across a couple of problems reported.

I was wondering if anybody could look at this and perhaps give me some advice. How do I get DirectSoundCapture to function?

Okay, I have managed to fix the problem by changing combinations of sound devices and also using a microphone that picks up sound more easily... the one I was using before picks up sound but far more faintly.
