Fakefactory Cinematic

Ok I just downloaded a new mod called believe it or not, Fakefactory Cinematic, I know Blitz has it as I got the idea of him on another forum, but for those of you who dont, google it and download it. Its basically Half-Life 2 but with all the up-to-date graphics with things like HDR. It also introduces new baskground music, new models and skins and new weapon sounds, basically makes it look a lot better and gives it a better cinematic feel. Also they have made the enemies a lot better, giving their weapons the same effect that your weapons has, so you take a lot less shots before dieing, and your deadmeat if you are caught in by a sniper or a shutgunner up close, on Hard is actually HARD, I am now on Highway 17 at the half way point just after Little Odessa fighjting the chopper near the pileup of cars and I have died the most in this run then any other run through. So if you want a proper HARD setting then get this mod, i recommend it to anyone really

there is no hdr implemented in it. if it was then it would be an extremly huge file since the maps have to be redone with it.all the pack is is just high resolution textures and adds cinematic music which is all from batman begins. overall it is well done. try it if you havent

lol yeah the faces look like they have make-up on lmao, but overal i found that increases the fun out of Half-Life 2, the new music scores give big fight scenerios an awsome touch

I kind of Like Alyx's new look. It far better than the past Fakefactory Hi-res Alyx skins.


How is breens skin bad....He just got more wrinkle's, Higher-res hair, & Blue hair...He does'nt look like her has make up on.

Oh and there is a glitch on it a noticed last night, in Entanglement, sometimes after a load point, Alyx just appears next to me and starts following me, even though she is in the control behind you, you can hear her talking but she is like right there, the real Alyx appears and there were two Alyx's lmao. I have screenshots of it if i can just find out where thew hell they get put...

I'm not seeing any distinctive difference between those screens and normal HL2. Everybody just looks like crap.

Actaully the graphics are a hell of a lot better, trust me on that, but yeah, some of the characters look a bit dodgey lol

I hate those models, and this mod.

1. Barney now has black charastics in his face. Barney is supposed to caucasion.
2. Look at Eli's face during the Breen scene. He looks like a mutant! His lips are stretched to beyond human level!
3. Alyx looks like a hooker with all that make up, and why is Breen wearing blush?
4. Mossman looks like a...man.

5. It messes up the facial expressions. Each programmed expression is designed specifically for the face, and when you change them like that, it messes everything up. Breen's expression are alot more mellow and weirder looking than they do without the hi res.

Look at how hideous they are!

I've tried Redux 2.0 wich has a buch of mods in it including fakefactory and personally i dont like a lot of the extra textures... and i dont like what they did with barney... i think he originally looked the best out of all the characters in the game... then they messed him up. but like the "wanted" post of alyx..is that in the original cuz if so i never noticed it.

I want a side-by-side comparison: Normal Half-Life 2 next to the FakeFactory Half-Life 2. I think I prefer the regular game as apposed to the mod. The FakeFactory Cinematic seems like overkill to me.

it kinda is... the airboat in fakefactory is compltely over done and give or take a few model and skin details the original looks just fine compaired to the fakefactory one its just too much... it looks like some one beat the shit out of it. same thing with the buggy.

Just completed Half-Life 2 again with the mod, and I would have to say it was an improvement, I though Breen and G-Man's skins were better, all the other characters? I prefered their orginal faces really. However, the music added to some of the main battles gives a great new flavour to them, enjoyed it a lot

WOW! IT seems like she's alot smoother, looks like its a REAL jacket -kinda- and that theres not a bunch of dots on her skin. Lighting looks a lil better too.
