For any fans of the "jam band" genre I was wondering what your favorites were. Bands that rely on studio work only need not apply. This is in my order of enjoyment. Maybe someone can turn someone else on to a new band.
1. Gov't Mule
2. Phish
3. Trey
4. Greatful Dead (if you count the classics)
5. Moe
6. John Butler Trio
7. String Cheese Incident
Anyone who who likes this type of music and hasn't listened to Gov't Mule, I strongly recomend it. Warren Haynes plays the axe and he's my favorite guitar player alive right now. Played with the Allman Brothers Band for a number of years and then started this gig. Great guitar work, plays the slide guitar a lot and can jam forever. He never seems to dry up. They have a live music service similar to the one that phish has.
Also here is a free site that has legal access to thousands of live shows by hundreds of different bands. Not the fastest downloads but there is a ton of great music to be found here.
