"First PS3's being made for Europe"

Har. Assassin's Creed could very well be on Xbox 360 too - at E3 it was revealed that the demo they showed off was uh, yeah, running on a 360. So much for the power of the cell chip eh?

Heavy Rain looked awful from that video I saw (with that woman... I can't play a game where the romantic interest scares me!) Killzone? First one was shit, and all we've seen is a mocked up movie that they pretended was real. The rest of those games are completely unproven and don't look like anything new. MGS4 looks nice as long as the plot doesn't go the way of MGS2 (down the shitter) though, as does er... well, to be honest just MGS4 looks any good out of the PS3 titles. Final Fantasy on consoles isn't my cup of tea - loved the GBA Tactics, I just hate sitting down for that stuff.

360 has a lot of PC titles that I want in addition to a few nice titles like Gears of War and the 360 version of GRAW. "Get a PC then!" I can't afford it, natch. Neither can I afford a PS3, either, at that ridiculous price. And now most of the PS3 exclusives are jumping ship for multiplatform, I don't see much reason to get one.

The 360 is has been out earlier then the ps3 and programming for it is easier then the ps3, which is an indication that in the end the 360 library might be bigger and more diverse.
The Wii has 2000 dollar devkit, that is just an invite for innovation and a big library.
The ps3 has currently the most exclusives that appeal to me, but in 5 or 6 years when I decid which to buy the ps3 will probably be at the end of my list.

i wish people get over themselves and realise that halo isn't the only game on the xbox (first and the 360) and you may like to sound cool by saying that it's just 30 second of gameplay over and over, but it's not, but if you can say it is then i can say hl2 is also.. it's just repeated killing of headcrabs & combine with the same old guns on a few different levels and the occasional 'different' thing in the form of a jetski chase or solving and incredibly simple puzzle.

ps3 games are graphically on par with the x360 and aren't really showing much innovation or anything different.

AS if there going to be £400 Pounds and In Usa $700 >: O What a corker hopefully the games wont be like 50 quid like the xbox 360 :)

On the Blu-Ray format? I'll bet they'll be £50 minimum.

As if that wasn't enough to depress everyone, if you don't have an HDMI digital input on your HDTV (most of them don't) then these movies could possibly be downscaled to DVD resolution anyway (by choice of the publisher)! DOH! The lower priced version of the PS3 doesn't have an HDMI output!

Luckily that protection scheme isn't going to be implemented into movies until 2010 at the earliest (most studios are going to put the Image Constraint Token in around 2012 actually), and by then if you don't have an HDTV with HDMI, well then you deserve to get the image downgraded.

You see, considering that a mass majority of people don't own an HDTV, the few that do simply don't have HDMI, and thus considering these are the early adoptors, why would you want to punish them and make them not buy your new format? You want them to get amazed without buying a lot of extra crap...

For me, I actually may go and camp out for the PS3 on the first night, just because they will sell like hot cakes on EBay (I could like quadruple my money!)...

For me, I saw a few titles on PS3 that interested me, MGS4, Assasin's Creed (which was supposedly running on Xbox360 hardware actually)... Yup, that's it... None of the others came out and "Wow'ed" me...

For Xbox360 though, we finally can get GTA4 on day one, and there is also new content coming out via Xbox Live with that... Not sure what it means, like if we get new missions or whatever, but we should know more soon :)

Also Halo 3 and Gears of War are just jaw-dropping... (GoW chainsaw ftw)

As much as I love Final Fantasy, I haven't played any of them since FF9, and unless they make another HUGE hit or remake FF7, I really won't care.

I think that Sony is really relying on their brand name to overcome the huge price...

Oh, and remember guys, if you don't like the PS3 say so with your wallet (as in, don't buy it)... Nobody is forcing you to do anything, so when the time comes and you still think "Sony Sucks" or whatever, just say so with your wallet.

They already announced the UK price as like £450... and considering the expensive costs of manufacturing a BR disc and how many dud ones they get in the process too, expect it to be about £50.

With all due respect, I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't true.

One of the largest studios, Warner Brothers, has said they
"will use the image constraint token on at least some of their titles"
In japan they have settled on 2010 which is only 3 years after the blu-ray comes out... it's not some far away destination. In USA, I read that it is entirely up to the studios, and some titles will have the image constraint token from day one.

Uhhh who the hell would pay even more than they are charging? I expect this system to be initially successful in Japan only at this rate. No F'n body is going to pay you $2,400 for a PS3. People did for the 360 though didn't they. :lmfao: Some people have too much money. It's nice that they give it away like this, but it makes you wonder where the hell they got it, if they are so irresponsible with it.

Haha so, I wouldn't make too many "investments"

Considering that the 25 GB Blu Ray discs are $25-$30 each for a blank disc, whereas a DVD disc is less than $1 - do the math here. PS3 games are going to be expensive.
50GB Rewritable Blank Blu-Ray Disk to Cost $60
Sony to Ship Blank Blu-ray Discs This Month for $30

Unless I also wanted a blue ray player, I wouldnt buy this console. Dont get me wrong, I do want a ps3... but not a crippled one for $600. Especially when you consider the fact that many of the games have a very good chance of coming to pc also.

25gb is a freaking lot though. You could store your entire music collection on one disc, and then some.

Yea but a dual layer DVD is 9gb, and costs about 50 times less! (at .50 per disc)

So you could store half your music collection on it, and have enough money to store about 20 entire music collections for the same price!

Look, I'm just saying, most people aren't going to want to upgrade. There just isn't enough incentive.

HD-DVD discs however, are going to put a DVD version on the other side of the disc. So, when you buy a HD-DVD title, you can play it in a DVD player or HD-DVD player. Meaning, you get both versions, and can always get the movie now, and the HD-DVD player later. Now when I go into a store to buy a movie on DVD, I'd be more inclined to buy the HD-DVD version for a little more (around $5 more), even if I don't own an HD-DVD player, knowing that one day I will have an HD-DVD player.

Blu-Ray is one-sided and cannot do this. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Not in my experience, 4.7gb quality dvd's cost 2 euro's per peice. I'm talking about taio Yudent and Hitachi Maxell ones, and a 8gb dvd is 4 euro's.

Only Final fantasy XI (the MMO) is on 360.
The real FF games are still PS exclusive.

Looks like Square is covering their bases...

Heavy Rain?
Heavenly Sword?
Resistance: Fall of Man?
Killzone?
Eight Days?

And MGS isnt new.
I said MGS4, not MGS. And none of the games on that list doesn't excites me one bit.

you all should stop complaining and get laid instead...
