Why did I find that funny?bam23 said:A guy walks into a bar and says "Beer kthnx."
Absinthe said:The cold represents the prevalent suppression of sexual urges within the environment. We can clearly see the growing agitation within Garfield. Eventually, he takes action. He intends to embark on a journey of sexual awakening, snubbing the archaic social code that has existed up to this point. The rubber gloves serve as both literal and figurative objects in the piece. Undoubtedly, Garfield's first foray into the primal Freudian universe will be a messy one. The gloves are not only a practicality within the context of the strip, but a sign of things to come. In the last panel, we see John, his eyes dull and his actions subdued. Contrasting Garfield, he is a slave to the social norms. He is complacent with the warmth of his coffee - the closest he will ever come to the passion of his deeply-buried innate desires. We require only one panel because he has no journey. The audience requires no more information, as his fate of eternal imprisonment is obvious. Lastly, the title panel serves as a metaphor for the entire experience. The dispersal of the dandelion signifying the explosive sexual awakening of Garfield. Although this seems cryptic at first, its powerful imagery makes sense to us when it is all over.
