Full Spore Creature Creator Coming This June

Neato.

I'm more than likely going to pick this up in September. Procedural content ftw.

*craps pants*

Seriously, best news I have heard all day!!! \o/

I wonder whether its worth paying for the entire creature creator, maybe if its 5 dollars or something.

Shouldn't it be discounted from the price of the final game if you buy the full one? :P

That's one thing I definitely won't mind pirating!

Awesome, I'll be taking a look at this.

Wut? It's free :|
Containing around 25% of the total creature parts from Spore, the trial will be be available for free via download from the game's official website

Don't care. GTA IV on my mind.

A version will also be available on retail shelves around the same time, which is said to include every creature part from the full title. A price for the retail version of the Spore Creature Creator was not immediately available.

I assume Letters meant that version.

Can't wait to get this. One of the coolest ideas (hopefully) done right in gaming in a long time.

Now here's a good idea on Maxis' part...I'll definitely be getting it. And it comes out right after I've finished my exams. :D

What he said :bounce:
And I don't give a shit about GTA. They're different games, thanks for pointing that out in a Spore thread.

Anyway, it looks like this might actually be it, no more significant delays on the way. I'm still not sure about the changes in graphical style since the original videos though.

Spore could single handedly take the eyes of the press (and public) away from games like The Sims and World of Warcraft, even for just a moment, and repopularize PC Gaming as we knew and loved it. To anyone even halfway interested in the PC Gaming market/culture it's an absolutely monumental and essential release. PC Gaming fiscally needs Spore, it's gotten press in everything from teeny-bopper magazines to the New York Times.

It also has to do with the fact that Spore developers have royally pissed me off with these ridiculous delays... giving the impression that it was around the corner several times and then jerking the string away time and time again. It's the game I've felt most betrayed on when it comes to delays... so I don't give a flying **** about spore right now.

And I now know that I was way too over-hyped for spore to begin with. It's going to bring some bits of revolution, but it's not going to be the great savior that people(and I once thought) it is going to be, somehow bringing about a new era in gaming. The only part that looks really special to me that stands out from any other game is the creature creator combined with the procedural animations.

You mean like this?

The best thing about this is that June is only about a month away.

*almost faints*

I swear, when *cough* I found out that Spore was coming out in *cough* March, I nearly fainted. And now that time has come and gone, and left me disappointed and waiting until September.

When it says "trial", does it mean, like, a limited time version? It better not.

I'm interested in Spore, but not hyped about it. My biggest concern for it is that each game you play will be the same, just look different.

I doubt it. Or, rather, it better not be.

It just means you only get to make use of a quarter of the final game's creature content.
