Graphics Card For HL2

I Have a Radeon x300 series graphics card and ive just boguht HL2 and i dont seem to be getting the maximum graphic quality that i have seen elsewhere, i.e. abit of lag (and when i start steam, it says its outdated, so i try update and i have the latest version). Can someone give me a short list of graphics cards that give the full graphic potential of HL2 please.

well for a relatively cheap option you could get a 6600GT, i got one and i can play it on the highest settings with minimal lag :afro:

Yeah I agree Radeon X300 won't get you anywhere time to shop for more powerful Video Card.

That card is not a gamer card you need to get better card. Those with max settings are they using the same card as yours?
Tell me more about your system specs including what graphic interface you use PCI? AGP? Or PCIe?

I've got an X300 as well that came with my Dell, I'm thinking of upgrading but what to upgrade to for around 150-175? (US dollars)
