Great graphic novels?

I tried to go through this thread and make kind of a 'To Read' list myself. OVERLOAD.

I've just bought the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, parts of which appear to be a musical in comic form. I am so excited.

I've just bought:
  • Transmetropolitan 3
  • House of Mystery 1
  • House of Mystery 2
  • Black Orchid
  • Y: The Last Man 1

And pre-ordered:
  • Sandman: The Dream Hunters
  • John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dark Entries

Should be in for a great month.

has anyone read The Surrogates?

It's a hate and like thing for me.

I'm reading Trans. Vol 2. Holy wow the Cryogenic Recovery story was fantastic.

I just bought a few comic issues for my friend. She's not very familiar with comics/graphic novels but is interested.

Transmetropolitan #8 Another Cold Morning (The Cryogenics story)

Filth #6 The World of Anders Klimakks (The one about the giant sperm created by the porn director)

Fell #1

It was probably a bad idea to get her anything from the Filth, it's just so damn confusing. I actually wanted to send her #10, which made me laugh out loud a few times.

I read a ton of issues of the Walking Dead and am now starting Maus.

I picked up a copy of Sandman: Endless Nights and The Dead Boy Detectives today. I say I picked them up, because I didn't buy them. The credit card system was broken at the shop and I couldn't be bothered to go and get cash out.

I have enough to read right now though so I don't know why I'm complaining.

Reading Preacher Vol 1, great fun. Anyone know if the full series is good?

Just finished all of Y: Last Man.

Ending had me teary.

I think I'll get this too or maybe DMZ...not sure now.
btw I hope Yorick is from Hamlet...

I've heard that's amazing, from almost every person who's read it and assumes I get my name from it. I think I'll have to pick it up.

Okay, I will tell you right now, Y:LM left me with very mixed feelings. It is by no means a perfect series. It starts off and finishes up very well, but there are some serious issues with it at times.

The entire series could, and should have probably been 7-8 volumes instead of 10, because there is a lot of unnecessary filler in the story. Volumes 6-8 are almost painfully repetitive.

There is a lot of campy dialogue that you have to get used to as well.

I cannot stress enough that y'all need to pick up Grant Morrison's Joe the Barbarian #1. Already set to be the best comic series of the last 5 years for me. The art is just nuts.

Recently been shown Battle Chasers which was created and drawn by the guy who did that Darksiders game, from what I've read it's the shizniz
