half life 2 cd key help....Please reply asap

i was woundering if anyone knows if there is any way to retrieve my cd-key, besides asking steam or valve???? please help.

what do you mean by "retrieve"? if your dog ate it or your mom threw it out (or vice versa), too bad, you gotta buy another copy of the game.

Assuming you registered your HL2 with a steam account you never need that cd key again. All you do it log into steam with the account you made and registered the cd key to originally, you remember the email and password right? If you dont your screwed.

Why would you want to avoid "asking steam or valve" unless you pirated it anyway?

Well, if you reckon you didn't pirate it, PM me and I'll re-open your thread after a short chat. Until then, I think you've pirated the game and you're trying to get someone to tell you how to get a legit cd key.

Like people have said, once you create an account, your cdkey is never used again; ever. You can't create any new accounts with it.. all you have to keep is the original account. The cd key is worthless after creating an account.

If you have an account and have lost the password- contact valve with proof of purchase and they might be able to help.
