Half Life 2 OST

Hi everyone, my first post of hopefully more on this forum, and I'm looking forward to joining the community. I just got Half Life 2 a few days ago and have been playing through it. One of the things I can't get over is the music - probably the best game music I've ever heard. I went looking through HL2's files and couldn't find any music files, I also checked Amazon for a soundtrack CD. this topic was a bit of help, but I still can't rest until I find that music So my question to y'all is: Where does one get the music? Thanks in advance.

You could try getting them from the GCF files, using a program called GCFscape,

You have to have .NET Framework installed, and steam not running, just open the sound .GCF and browse to the music folder.

You can download the whole soundtrack (43 tracks) with bittorrent from Removed teh url!!11. Just search Half-Life 2 Soundtrack.

Are those completely named with original titles and stuff? Cause if they are, I wasted 30 minutes of my life.

HL2 does have good music but I wouldn't say it has the best, I prefer Halo's.

I haven't played much Xbox (only multiplayer, I don't own one myself), so I'll rephrase that to "Best PC Game Music Ever", though the Descent 1 Mac music is a close second.

And just a question, if you can extract it out of the GCF files for free, why would it be illegal to download it for free? Or is it just that the torrent site that was posted was illegal in general? If that's the case, would it be possible to get the actual torrent link?

I'm not sure if its in breach with EULA, but I don't see why listening or extracting the songs would be illegal.

It would be illegal to upload the songs for example, because people could download them without buying the OST or game.

yep Theres a part during ur stride fight when the music kicks up and its my fav part in the game, nothign beats the room shaking with every strider step and combine elites shooting at me with their combine pulse rifle and me and my rebel team shooting rockets galore all the while u got some crazy techno music going crazy. its just gaming bliss
