I have a simple question; what will happen to HL2.net's domain name once HL3 is on the horizon? I mean, calling the site halflife2.net once everyone's moved onto Half-Life 3 wouldn't be very timely.
EDIT; I don't think this really counts as feedback, but I couldn't find a more relevant subforum to post this in.

That's if there will be a Half-Life 3. I think that once the Half-Life 2 series has died down we'll move on to a new name to cover other games. Not sure what that name will be yet though.

Valve could hand over the halflife.net domain which currently only links to the main Orange Box website.

Or if indeed there is to be no HL3, valve.net or valvesoftware.net? The former is owned by Valve and the latter doesn't exist.

Or when we find out what their next big single-player project is. dinosaurracer.net?

But I don't think there's any rush. I think it'll be a sad day when we get rid of the hl2.net domain name.

Remember when we tried to branch out about 3 years ago to things like supremecommander.net? I can't remember the other ones we had... any help?

sourcegaming.net?

Or something :D

gamirage.net?
halfdead.net?
lifeisfun.at ...?
halfli.fr?
halfli.ng?
nihilanth.bk?
stalker.su?
games.sk? (or games.su, doesn't matter)
there's plenty of free domains! register now! :)

halflife2.net is only a name. The site will shift to amateur porn forum after Half-life 2 dies away.

This could always just remain as a site that likes HL2.

Right?

I dig it, is all I'm saying.

I've thought about this before, but I reckon it should stay as HL2.net

for now.

Personally, I think being halflife2.net is how it should stay. It's got so much associated with it, changing it at any point in the future would be an unnecessary rebranding. In past experience trying to 'broaden out' with a name change rarely works.

munrosbreasts.net?

If it becomes apparent that there will be a HL3 at some point, I think we should simply keep this site and make a halflife3.net, before anyone else does.
