Has anyone actualy thought about the name. Besides its obvious relation to physics and such (half-life is the time till decay or something of an atom) Maybe there is something more too it i just dont know what.

The half lives of radioactive isotopes are technically infinite. Since you are reserching one in HL1 it makes sense. Add that to the fact that the events of the first game had an infinite number of repercussions and...thats it.

Half Life is like the time it takes for half of a radioactive material to decay. Like in 400 years, half will be left. 400 years=the half life of the material. I think valve just did it to be scientific.

they also have the lambda symbol every where which means wavelength, like the wavelength of the particles being emitted from decay

Half-Life and the lambda symbol were picked because they were "sciency" and "cool". Nothing more. They may weave some plot into them, but that's what they started out as.
