Half-Life model viewer question (Source SDK)

Is it possible to open a model from any other directory? There are a couple models from the GCFs that I'd like to be able to open.

You could use gcfscape to browse true the gcfs and copy them into another map.

i used GCFscape to extract the model files to a folder on my desktop. i just can't figure out how to get the model viewer to browse to those files.

final sdk isnt out yet. Not until then. Also its useless to try using the leaks hlmv. Because its outdated. Patience.

i found the model file for the

Combine alien Breen is talking to at the end

and a really cool looking enemy that wasn't in the game and i was hoping to get a better look at them than the jpg files in the GCF.
