Halo 3 not countering PS3 launch

Yeah, I figured we all knew Gates' comment about how they'd release at the same time was bullshit.

um, thought everyone knew this ?

no competition ? the xb360 and most likely the revolution will already be out and both companies (or certainly microsoft) has things planned to counter the launch, like a business would when a competitor launches their product.

even thoe I dont like Consoles.... PS3 will own the 360 that for sure ( I think) :P

If Sony doesn't change that damn controller design, it doesn't matter how many crazy cell processors or insanity-graphics the machine has. It will fail.

That controller looks nearly unusable in its current state.

You do know that they have paid hundreds of people to test the controllers for comfort over the last few years, don't you?

Oh, but you have a .jpeg, so nevermind. :p

Hell, I'd still buy a PS3 if that was the case and buy a 3rd party controller.

On topic - I say give Bungie all the time they need to make Halo 3 the best it can possibly be. The PS3 and 360 will both be pretty successful. I'm just worried about Nintendo. I think the Revolution could launch them to the no. 1 spot or seriously endanger their business in the console market.
Here's hoping that all three enjoy great amounts of success.

Well, here's my take on Nintendo:
yes, the Rev is indeed a gamble. However, if it tanks, they still have their uber-profitable handhelds to fall back on- the PSP has barely made a dent in Nintendo's control on the portable front.

I agree. But I still want Nintendo to stay in the console market.

Oh, so do I, absolutely. I was merely saying that if the Revolution were to flop, it wouldn't mean financial ruin, because they'd still have the DS and GBA. Hence, they could re-enter the console market later on.

Basically, Nintendo = teh pwn.

If supergreat is the word he uses to describe the game...it's gonna be the same as halo 2.....5 hour long game and multiplayer as the main focus. Lets be blunt. Bungie should stop with the crap story, and make a 100% multiplayer game for halo 3.

Sony, you're honestly telling me that this looks like a good controller design?

For anyone other than Andre the Giant, reaching the buttons on top looks to be if not impossible, at least extremely awkward. I frankly don't care how many people have tested it, the thing litterally looks more uncomfortable than an old NES controller, i.e.: a rectangle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some sort of hype-blinded fanboy here, I sincerely want Sony to succeed and provide another outstanding platform for another generation of great games, it's just that I can't see it happening with this controller. What the hell was wrong with the Dual Shock? First rule of game design: if it ain't broke don't fix it.....unless you go all the way and change the whole paradigm like Nintendo is doing.

I saw a good hentai drawing of a girl with a ps2 controller down her panties force feedbacking herself to climax. Dripping ooze and the like.

That design is taking the controller/sex toy idea up a level.

Darkstar, Sony arn't morons there a big company. They go through tons of testing to find the right controller, they don't just slap shit on and say ok this will work. They try things, and if they found that design the most comfortable then trust me, it's gonna be comfortable. You think they hit the 360's controller design on the first try? Or the Xbox's? Or the Revolutions? Gamecube? NES??? No they experiment a hell of a lot and find what feels good. Once they find what feels good and what works then thats what they go with. If something dosn't fit right then they wont go with it they will change it.

Oh well doubles up as a good boomerang too i guess.

Halo 3 better = teh win

If shooting the bad guys in the game does not work, throw the controller at them instead.

Unless you have been living under a rock or a morbidly obese life partner for the past few months, you will know that Sony confirmed that the controller shown at E3 was a prototype design just to have something out there to show. It is by no means final and I would bet huge amounts of money and property that the design will be much more like the good old dualshock than the "boomerang."

But by all means, make fun of it all you like--its a ridiculous design!

Oh, and of course Halo 3 won't launch with the PS3. Bungie hasn't been working on it all that long and to rush out a sure fire blockbuster like that would be akin to, if not suicide, then some sort of self-amputation at least on the part of Microsoft. The 360 will have a bunch of very impressive games by the time the PS3 launches, so everyone will hopefully be happy.
