lord have mercy, I just love it when right wing crazies get caught doing something contrary to what they push politically

He is the poster boy of the BNP, an articulate former teacher whose blue eyes and easy charm helped win the far-right party 11 council seats in Barking, east London. But now Richard Barnbrook, London leader of the BNP, has been forced to deny that an erotic movie he produced and directed as a student was a gay porn film.

HMS Discovery: A Love Story contains scenes of flagellation, men undressing and frolicking in a river and a naked man apparently performing a sex act on another. While this may be hard for supporters of a party opposed to the "promotion" of homosexuality to swallow, Mr Barnbrook's transgressions get worse: the 58-minute film, made in 1989, is described as "Marxist" by one film website.

The existence of the film was first revealed in the Guardian before last year's general election, when Mr Barnbrook stood as a candidate in Barking. According to one cinema listing, Mr Barnbrook also starred in and co-wrote the film.

But yesterday he denied penning erotic poetry set to the footage, which includes the lines: "It bares you like a foreskin's folds" and "Open-mouthed, I shall dream of altar boys." :O :x

Indeed, and when this sexuality involves lots of naked men, and the absence of members of the opposite sex... Well, that pretty much makes it homosexual.

Usually I'd agree - it kind of gets to me when the media pulls up sleaze on politicians when it's irrelevant. But this is relevant, seeing as it contradicts the ideals he espouses (at least in public).

There was a guy in my sixth form who was forever railing against immigration. His parents (or maybe grandparents) were Greek.

JNightshade, 'nationalist' suggests 'mainstream' to you? :p The only party with nationalist in its name that I've ever heard of not being an evil nazi party is the Scottish Nationalist Party (oh, and Plaid Cyrmu or however you spell it) and then only because the Scots are awesome.

No, 'nationalist' doesn't mean 'mainstream', it just seems like they'd be committed to actually helping their nation, as opposed to hating everyone who's not white, straight, and christian :/
 
Nationalism is where you believe your nation is superior to others.
 
Technically it SHOULD merely refer to a belief that "each nation is entitled to its own state." So the Scottish Nationalists believe they have the right to their own country.

Apparently it's now (in the last hundred years) where you believe your nation consists only of those whose families were there a hundred years or so ago.
 
I know what nationalism MEANS, I was just... bah. I was merely stating that nationalism =/= racism.
 
Yes, but it can easily lead to racism and is more often than not associated with racism.

Like for instance, the Nazis believed the German race/nation was superior to all the others.

He was freakish. REALLY freakish. And he didn't win the election - who woulda thunk it? Especially seeing as that was on top of him being a massive liar, hypocrit and all-round general wanker.
So, like Cameron in fancy dress, then.
