Gonna need all the room I can get once I get to college... so I'm looking for a high quality 17 inch LCD monitor that's low-cost as well. Haven't been able to find any helpful reviews, so if anyone could recommend a particular monitor or link me to a site with good, reliable reviews, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

How much are you willing to pay for the monitor?

Well... I'll put it this way: I don't want some cheap piece of shit. But I'm short on money, so I guess I'm looking for the best possible deal out there.

Ok thanks, I'll look into that one.

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

get a samsung, ive got one, excellent moniters.
rather pricey tho....

I got a 17in LCD , after I tried it ... I returned it and went back to my CRT.

Yeah I really like CRTs much better, but I need extra desk space in my dorm.

i personally dont like LCD monitors, they are made for dvd movies not games. infact i hear a lot of games arnt that great on LCD monitors, i dont know if its performance or graphics, but i PERSONALLY dont like them.

alot of them dont have good refresh rates, and you get ghosting i believe, but there are a few that are good, but i dont think id ever use an lcd for gaming either.

Yeah I know, and I agree completely. I'm not saying I wouldn't rather have a CRT, but I just don't have the space.

LCDs are getting better though, I'm hoping to find one that doesn't have much of a ghosting problem...
