i don't know when exactly or when, but i heard one of the mods that were made for hl had a suit of mark vi, and it was grey, again i don't know where i read that really, but if anyone has information or pics of that, could you end me?
thanks.

Well, if it was a mod it has nothing to do with Half-life2s story because only Valve can make the real half-life2 story so its just a "mod", its not "official".

i never said it was official, nor having anything to do with hl2's story, i just said i've read about a grey HEV suit. that's all.

yeah, me too, actually, i'm sure that it was a hl1 mod, i'm just not sure, was it natural selection, point of view or another mod?

it was in final redemtion for HL1. Nothing to do with the HL story (on the cannon level) but pretty amusing to play through if you can be bothered

Grey HEV suit mk.IV is in official HL: Decay. Its HEV of Dr.Gina Cross.

btw Grey HEV mk.V will be in my mod Engineers of the Future ;)

It was in Absolute Redemption (previously called Redemption) for Half-Life 1

I don't take Gearbox up on models, too inconsistant.

Its your problem...:|
It's annoying because it shows that they don't pay attetion which makes it even harder to justify Race-X and the Black Ops.

But Mark said Race-X is a part of the storyline :|

anyone has pics?

oh yeah, redemption, now i remember,

EDIT: i saw a couple of pics, i think they changed the color so it fits the hologram version.
one question: Does different colors mean different versions or utilities? think about that...

In Decay, Gina wore a beige suit, while Colette wore a red one.

However, those different colours exist only for the players to tell the characters apart and are not canon.
Officially, their suits are orange.

Gearbox didn't make very many mistakes in their work on the expansions, but the character's HEV suits are one thing they often messed up by using the multiplayer models, which don't fit single player.

And Barney's clothes. And the long-jump module. And the magical trasnformation of all the SMGs in BM to ARs.

And the fact that those 5.56mm ARs share ammunition with 9mm pistols.

why not?
Because they weren't designed to be seen in-game.

oh and did you write the factfile for HL2?
Yes he did

one more thing, how did you get the first part in the plot summery? like when barney was hired or other things?
The manuals

They did make some though. Like having a dead vortigaunt's collars removed and wired up so that they'd still shoot electricity. We now know that the slave collars have nothing to do with that ability!

Bastards.

Still, like Samon says...

What?!

There was a level in Decay with autopsied Xenians all over the place. A set of the green slave collars and cuffs were wired up, and you could press a button which made them fire green electricity (constantly I think).

Since we see vortigaunts without these collars shooting in HL2 this is an error, inconsistancy, or mistake.

Well that was a stupid thing to do by Gearbox but it was an inconsistancy by Valve. :\

...or I'm right and the cuffs are used to channel or inhibit the electric input.

if that's how they work, then any large enough charge would cause them to fire in the same way the vorts can naturally.

Think of it like a boxing glove. When you wear them you can punch stuff, but the gloves can be hooked up to spring to make them punch without you.

agree, there has to be some way they "shoot" electricity at you, exactly at the place you are, in a straight line. nice theory, i like it.
oh and btw mechagodzilla, i don't know where to download your HL2 Fact File...

They can do that in HL2. I think he means that they ristrict the flows of electrity so that they can't fight back because they are more powerful in HL2. But that might be because of no more slavery that they are stronger.

And I don't think he made a HL2 one. Which I don't mind as I don't need it.

and the last time i asked, you said it's at the top of this forum...
is it because of me you don't get what i say, or is it something else? cause this is the second time for me...
cool though, thanks that at least you let me know there is no such thing.

Sorry. I thought you were asking was Mecha the one who made a the HL factfile.

i read this somewhere in a website, giving information about HL and that it has female models:
Also- a considerable way into the game the player encounters a fellow scientist -Female-
Who is wearing a HEV mk.7 suit identical to Gordon Freeman's. She is not "disproportionate" or especially remarkable in any way except that she managed so fight and survive at least as long as your character.
well, is it true?

There are no female HEV users in any half-life game, except Gina and Colette who wear normal suits and never meet Gordon in person.

Post a link next time.
