hl2 and css cant stop amazing me

the gameplay is just fantastic, but i cannot believe how well it is running on my system!

i have a:
2.26 ghz intel
512 ram
nvidia mx 440 128 mb

i can run hl2 at medium with 1024x768 res with upwards of 40 FPS

i can run cs:s at everything high, except for shadows, and water is at the medium settings, and i get over 50 with no action, mid-high 30's with action. 1024x768 res

is anyone else getting #'s like this that had a decent computer? i am in utter shock. this game looks better than doom 3, and i got 20 FPS on doom 3 with everything on low with a 640x480 res. this game is unbelievable :sniper: :sniper: :sniper:

I have 512 MBRAM, 2.0 Ghz, ATI 9600 128...i run both on medium....but i get some chopiness occasionally and sometimes it freezes for a few seconds...but nothing too bad.....lucky you

Doom3 to me seemed to make everything TOO perfect in that the spilled on the sides of a barrel were predictable. What I like about HL2 is that gritty, unrefined feeling the textures have as if they've seen years of war. Like when you first leave the train station at the beginging (sp) of the game. There's that open town square with the fenced statue thing. It looks so real because they didn't try to make it look perfect. It looks as if it's been there for more than 15 seconds.

Ya know what I mean?

I love the fact that half life 2 is gritty but has a rally modern feel too it
