I still haven't this book (but I have Raising the Bar and its very good and important book) because I dont know if its importatnt for me.
It contains important info about story (for old half-lifer)?, some detailed info about characters - I make guide for czech wiki (I need to know education of Mossman, Breen - their age, another info about them...).
Can I learn something important from this book?

You have to read between the lines in a lot of the places, but yeah, you can learn a bit.

Its got descriptions about the chars, describing their personality and some of their history. For example:

Dr. Wallace Breen:

Dr. Breen is the former administrator of the Black mesa research facility, and is now the interim administrator of earth. He is dry, driven by logic, and literal minded. Not a man who ever sought the spotlight he finds himself forced to justify the invasion and his decision to orchestrate Earths surrender - by lecturing the public on the theory behind his appeasement. In person he is as cold and unfeeling as he appears on the gigantic monitors.

They are pretty good, others are longer, and more detailed. You've got enemy sections, weapon sections and other stuff. The Combine description is especially good.

Thanks Samon, its not something new for me, but maybe I will buy this book...
