hl2cd-key reset

Hi ,i don't know if anyone can help me with this but anyways,i got hl2 on e-bay without knoing that u have to reset the cd-key to be able to play even offline so i fond out that i have to send a cd-key reset form to steam with the user before me's user name,so i sent an e-mail to check if someone from steam would answer because i have to send 10 $ and the s/n and no answer yet ,it's bin 5 days now.I tryed out some offline activations without succes i don't know what to do ???? :dozey: thx

If you don't buy it from Valve, they aint gonna give you a CD-Key.

I'm pretty sure that the person who has that cd-key on his account needs to request that the cd-key be 'un-tied' from his account. You can't do that. Either that or have that guy give you his Steam account username and password. This is why you don't buy Half-Life 2 on ebay.

Best advice is, get a username and password from a friend or re-sell on ebay,actually that would make you as bad as the guy you bought it off, doh !!
