Im supremely bored durin my summer break, so I've decided to ask what is probably the most rediculous question one could ask in light of the hype surrounding HL2: When do you guys think HL3 will come out, and what engine do you suppose it'll use? lol there i've said it..now you can either answer or flame me for being ignorant I suppose lol.

HL3 will be out at some point after HL2 is released.

I will tell you what engine it'll be using at some point after HL2 is released.


It's like asking "When will the GeForce 8 be out, will it be DirectX 23 compatible and how much RAM will it have?"

By that do you mean a new version of Source, or a completely new engine. I would think that after working on source for 4 years that they wouldnt just scrap it for the next HL...but I could be wrong.
