How to speed that torrent up!

What should have been done is the guy should have given the torrent to one person with a high upload speed and then when he was done downloading it distribute it to everybody else.

Some advice:

- Don't use any fancy torrent programs, the standard one is faster in most cases!!
- Don't use bandwith limiters, they eat up others downloads!
- While downloading, go out and breath fresh air

I didn't like the standard one...way too bare. Azureus is the best

never understood BT, why would i wanna take 17 hours to dl a 500 mb file when i can do it in 2 hours with http.

BT comes into it's own for popular files, where with ftp nobody would get the file due the complete hammering of the server. BT keeps downloads speeds stable, perhaps even faster no matter what the load - assuming they have enough seeders unlike this one.

Usually like 5-10 gives good speeds if everyone is uploading at 15 or 10KB then everyone else can get like 30KB/sec. The more the faster. If 300 people keep it open, that's 300 seeds, so you'll be downloading at a nice 100KB/sec or faster

Depends on the number downloading and connection speeds, of course. I'm not sure of the ratio.

Think of BT as a group effort project. Over 30 people have 90% done including me. When I'm done I'm maxing out the speeds for people with less % so hang on. **Oh yeah I have cable so you should go extra fast when I'm done!
