I bet there's already a thread on this, sorry if so, oh well.

Which do you like more/find to be cooler?

Hunter. I just find its design and part played in the storyline that much better than the strider.

Seeing the Strider in reviews nearly convinced me on the spot to buy the game.

The colour scheme of the hunters are really great, and I just love their combination of pack-animal and robotic weapon.

I like the Hunters, they require more skill to defeat which gives me greater satisfaction when I kill it. With striders, there's always an infinite RPG ammo crate somewhere.

Strider > all

Even if you don't find them fun to fight, you cannot deny the ominous feeling you still get when you play Point Insertion as that strider walks past.

Hunters are cool, but a Strider can rip apart a whole building in one air destorting shot.

Is and will always be the Strider, it's just so menacing to see both walking around while hearing those jaw-dropping thuds from a distance or the just mind-blowing belly cannon that can - no will completely and utterly destroy a huge building in one shot.

Strider.
Like three of them would be awesome. The heavies threading in C17 with those spiked sharp legs which seem that it could puncture anything. Its like Roshan.

Hunter. Guess becouse its new.
Zombie Yeti in episode 3 will blow all the others away thou.

I love Striders because I love War of the Worlds. The sounds Striders make can be quite scary at times and there weapons are all powerful.

Hunter hands down
Yeah Striders are cool but they are big and the cannon is inaccurate

I voted Strider.

I really love both (and they are very different creatures) but the strider is far more epic IMO, I love the feeling of being miniscule beings amongst these great giant creatures, it gives you a great sense of awe and fear.

Hunter. The Strider is badass, but the Hunter is the most original/memorable/well-designed enemy in the game IMO.

They're both about as good as each other really. I'd vote for Strunters if that was an option :P

The Hunters were very acutely designed, and considerably more detailed, but I can't shake the feeling that they were a huge disappointment to finally fight: like every infantry level enemy in the game, you just fling stuff at it for five seconds and watch it go down before the AI gets to impress you.

Striders it is then. As Zephos said, they really sold Half-Life 2 in early publicity and next to the Hydra, they were standout enemies. Though Valve have never allowed us to trip them, as we know we all want to (Could Episode 3's Arctic Environment be Half-Life's Ice Planet Hoth?), they turned the enemy around after a rather stale appearance in Episode One with the tense, fast paced Strider Buster defence, and the iconic Dog Vs Strider set piece.

This. Very much This.

Assuming we do go to the arctic in ep3, i'd have to say there'd probably end up being either a completely new synth designed for cold climates, or an upgrade of the Hunter or Strider.

Ice Hunter for the win.

Hunter. It's far cooler than a WotW large striding thing. You lose the connection with the striders because they're so big. Hunters you can almost relate to.

Not much in it for me, really. I voted striders because I prefer the sounds they make, and I still haven't forgiven Valve for doing away with the shiny green hunter skin.
