Hokay...
so, just for the record, I'm a badass. I've finished the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves' Guild subplots, I'm level 23, I've got Goldbrand, Umbra, and a ton of other shit, and to top it off I look sexy as hell. But... well, a weapon knocked my strength down a bit, and when I went to the chapel to heal, I got the message:

"Repent, wicked one!"

So what can I do? I don't have any restore strength spells, and I want to be back to normal. How do I "repent" (read: get un-evil)?

D:

You can't repent!!!! Don't let something like lower strength diswade you from your beautifully evil ways :D. Anyways, just get a restore strength potion from the market or make it yourself.

ooh, good point :D
still, I'd like to be able to go to the chapels... anyone know how?

Oh well, I tried. You're the worst bad guy ever. Anyways, to be able to repent your Fame has to be bigger than your infamy (check your character stats for the numbers). I guess fame can be gained from doing good deeds (quests) and infamy by killing everything is sight.

As a pure sidenote, my fame is 45 and my infamy is 1 (one side quest required me to kill one or two people).

Very useful, but do you know this? I've not seen anything mentioning fame or infamy...

EDIT: ROFL. I found it... no wonder. Infamy is 101, fame is 5
I've murdered 9 people, stolen 2280 items, picked 350 locks... I am pure evil :D

Odd, though. I mean, I've gone on SO MANY good quests... guess my bad deeds cancel them out.

Repent wicked one! lol

What's your luck? I heard fame subtracted by infamy affects your luck, so I'm wondering what's yours.

I can't pray either:

"Don't make me come down there!"

I have never done anything wrong. I help old ladies across the street and the like.

I am far from evil ... which is how i want it to stay ... you evil people sicken me :p

Try completing the Arena if you haven't done so--it should give you a whole lotta fame. Also try to rise within the leftover guilds or just get going in the Main Quest to get your fame on!!

I've already competed in the arena. And I heard somewhere that the reward for completing the first Fighter's Guild mission borks your stats somehow... is this true? If not, I'm gonna do that.

Also, you can't repent if you have a bounty on your head.

Oooh, I do have a bounty... good point :D
Anyway, does anyone have an answer for that Fighters' Guild thing?

What do ya mean, "Bork" :| .. im now officially confuzzled !

Haha, thank you, bvasgm.

And also, nvm about the Fighter's Guild thing. I found a fix that prevents it from getting screwed up.

The Fighter's Guild quests were fine for me, or I didn't even notice...

No, you haven't :P You've done 5 good quests. That's the only way to get your fame up, after all (note: each Arena battle counts as a "good" quest"). Also, you don't get infamy for stealing goods or picking locks, you get infamy for killing people and doing Dark Brotherhood / theives' guild (?) quests.

Actually, I checked again, and overnight my infamy went down to 57, and my fame went to 51. Weird.
