I broke it and could use some help...

Half Life 2 is pretty dope, but it seems to be broken once I get to Ravenholme. It works completely normally until the section after the elevator where you need to pull the lever and run up the ramps then hop the platform. In that area, my gravity gun doesn't work at all, and I fall through the platform at the top of the ramps. It's almost as if the game stops registering objects except for walls/stairs/floors. Essentially, anything that isn't "bolted down" seems to be the issue.

If I go reload a saved game back before the elevator, everything works normally again...then it breaks yet again when I get to the same spot. A few suggestions that I already attempted: verifying the game cache, defragmenting, and reinstalling. None of them helped.

Any clues? I'm stuck home in bed and it's either this game or watching Catch Me If You Can for the 11th time. Save me from myself...

Update...I reinstalled a second time, ran the game from the top, and everything seems to be working fine. Don't know why...Don't know how....Don't really care I guess.
