You remember the original HL when the Army was trying to kill you? And then you find out that you have a tracking device on your suit? The Combine I think are at this apartment because they have tracked you! I always wondered why that Combine looked at you, like your the wanted guy. Then that Combine vehicle is rushing to the building because they have located you. They got the wrong guy when you came in and saw them breaking into that persons room. They thought you were in their! I also noticed that transvestite turning from a guy/girl/guy. I also noticed that African American guys line differed from the original video. But as you can see from my screenshot the Combine finally located you and start running after you! Then at the end a kind City-17 citizen offers you some cover. This is my theory and I hope you like it! :naughty: **If your thinking running after you? Look at the blurry distance, at least 3 of them are hauling ass to catch you!

Perhaps. They could be hunting you down, I dunno. Actually, this sounds very likely. They're obviously looking for someone in the appartments, seeing how they're walking around and breaking into doors. Wonder if it is gordon?

i dont think gordon is wearing the HEV at this point, and when you do get it in hl2, i think its a brand new one, with new abilities (such as the aux power and squad commands) which im guessing is made by one of the resistance (kliener maybe?) and therefore wont have the tracking devices in it.

i might be wrong tho, its certainly an interesting theory. i belive the part in hl1 where you find this out is when you get near the lambda complex, you have to clear a room of monsters before the scientist lets you out. then he tells you he drew the short straw.

I'm betting Gordon doesnt have his suit yet. That seems to be an early part of the game, where you have no weapons or anything, or so it seems to me. Besides, the combine would probably be suspicious as to what the hell you were wearing. heh.

theyre shaking down that block because there is a miscount (as told by the female announcement coming from outside) i.e.: theres more people there than there should be, most likely because youre there. also whats cool, when the combine bust down the door, you can hear them beating up the people on the inside.

True but if you look at the trainstation video they had a camera. I always think of HL2 as WW2. Just substitute Combine soldiers as Nazi ones and BAM oppression and WW3 that the human race will lose. Plus they gotta have video cameras everywhere, their a highly advanced race.

It shows combine breaking into an apartment. They're probably looking for that person. In fact, the reason they're breaking into people's apartments is probably just to show that City 17 is under a horribly oppressive government.

I thought that the combine breaking into the guy's room was, as that african american dude said "Don't worry, they'll find a reason", then you hear the mis-count announcement, because the guy had been taken out.

But of course it's most likely that it's just a mis-count because gordon is there.

BTW, he's not wearing a HEV suit at this point, he's wearing a white suit like everyone else.

Gordon is really going to get off a train with his HEV suit on when everyone else is clad in overalls. Like in hl1, you start in normal clothing. then you get your HEV suit later
