For Some Reason, The ONLY characters I've made are evil, I'm not joking, ever since I bought the game it's been Assassins, Theives, Sharpshooters (evil ones, trust me), Battlemages (Evil Ones), Necromancers (I didn't have enough room in making my class to put the put "Necromancer" so in the game he is a "Necro" :D ), ect.. My Infamy is ALWAYS higher than Fame....

I was going to make characters like Knights, but they always turn out evil, like killing people and whatnot...

I want a character that only commits murder when he's defending himself, and never steals, ect.

I was going to make a Mage, but with the Destruction spells, I don't think it's a good idea....

What about an Alchemist? I don't think I'd do anything evil with him, anything that I can think of right now....

I never had any troubles with evil-ness in Morrowind, Oblivion is just so damn fun to be evil in!

So, what to you guys think of an Alchemist, Check This out:

Race: Wood Elf (Bosmer)
Sign: The Mage
Favorite Skills: Intelligence, and Luck (Luck makes you make better potions, right? If not, then Willpower... I guess...)
Major Skills: Alchemy, Restoration, Light Armor, Marksman, Illusion, Mysticism, and Alteration.

I'll go into more detail:

Wood Elf - Starts out with a higher than default alchemy skill, and just seems like an "Outdoorsy" type character.

The Mage - For the Magicka boost, with Illusion and all that.

Skills: Intelligence - For Magicka. Luck - I don't know about this one, maybe I should pick Agility (Marksman, and Light Armor are supported skills under agility)

Major Skills:
Alchemy - Duh...
Restoration - Cure potions that had bad effects.
Light Armor - Basic Protection, still need some defense!
Marksman - Wood Elf gets an amazing bonus here, and also a line of offense, seeing as how I'm not using Destruction, as I will turn evil with Destruction. Also I get so get sneak bonus with Wood Elf race,AND I can poison arrows!
Illusion - Lighting the way in dungeons (Get bone-meal in dungeons), Calming Attackers, Evading attackers by going invisible (Wood Elf also gets a good bonus in sneak,)
Mysticism - Telekesis is really good if your lazy - like me!
Alteration - Very useful for transporting heavy loads, getting under water ingrediants, ect..

Now to explain why I'm not using some other skills:....

Blade/Blunt/Hand-to-Hand - These don't really seem Alchemistish, bow seems most reasonable for offense
Armorer/Block - I don't really need these, I'll probably be going into town alot to sell potions, so Armorers can repair my stuff, and I don't even use a shield as an alchemist, I use a bow....
Heavy Armor - Light Armor is lighter, and looks better.
Athletics - Easy to level up, so nah...
Security/Sneak - I'm really good at picking locks (about 92% of the time I can pick a very hard lock with only 1 lockpick), Alteration also helps me with locks. Wood Elf gets bonuses in sneak, and it's easy to level up.
Acrobatics - REALLY easy to level up.
Merchantile/Speechcraft - I don't use these that often, I usually just bribe them for dispostion, and I haggle, but it doesn't matter, usually it's only like 3-10 gold difference.
Destruction/Conjuration - These would lead to me being evil, which I do not want to be with this character.

So, do I look good? I only asked and posted all this, because I hate making a character and than 2 hours into playing I realised I screwed him up somehow... causing me to restart...

Download Kyo's save game manager, then start a knight or a crusader, or perhaps a monk. As hard as it is to resist, do not steal.

I don't really want to use Blade, every character I've made (including Mages) have had Blade, I want a change.

Use a blunt weapon then.

Whatever you decided to be, resist the urge to kill innocents and steal things. Oh and stay the hell away from the dark brotherhood and thieves guild.

Also use a leveling mod.

And it's intelligence that boosts your alchemy, not luck.

Luck is just for spells and skills if I remember right.

You know, you could just like, use your moral judgement.

It's easier to level stuff fast by doing illegal and destructive stuff. Stealing alchemical ingredients, putting on a gray fox mask and slaughtering guards, standing in a high place and shooting at stuff or just becoming chameleon.

I have 92 fame, 20 infamy, and i steal all the time! Don't murder and start street brawls, though. I'm finishing the Mage's guild stuff then I'll continue on with the Grey Fox junk - having a bountyhead character looks pretty fun.

Hah, being good or not has nothing to do with your attributes - it's whether or not you get bored and randomly smack people, or steal their dinner right in front of them. Just resist doing that. I steal quite a bit and my fame is about 10 times my infamy.

I assasinate people. With my apples or arrows. Its fun, and i do it so no one notice, my fame is high, seeing how i completed the main quest.

I put a decapitated head in the middle of an altar once. Praise me.

You can't legitimately complete the game without doing evil deeds...

I know, but I don't want to be REALLY evil, you understand?

Everyone is evil at some point, you gotta be, but some are more eviler than others. (I know eviler isn't a word, so shh..)

*SPOILER*

Anyone done the Garthir (sp?) quest (believe it was in Skingrad)?
What did you do there? Nice quest to test your evilness. I just came to him every night and told him they were indeed all spying on him, without even checking it and collected my gold. I was willing to kill the people he requested, but was too much of a hassle so I killed him :P

It's not about fame, I was just using that to show how evil I usually am.

It's about roleplaying a good guy.

Well... it's hard to roleplay a purer-than-thou holy paladin sorta guy, mainly because there aren't many choices in game.

All these churches around the place and not nearly enough holier than thou priests.

There may not be many choices as to how to do many of the quests, but you can choose simply not to do the 'evil' ones.

Eheh yeah its kind of cool, until you get arrested in any major city/town you enter. You basically cant do anything from there onward. Never a good idea until youve leveled pretty high.

But... the bounty is on t3h Grey F0x, not you as such.

And while the choice to not do the evil quests is a way to be good, yes, the 'good' quests aren't nearly as fun - or creative - as the evil quests. Mages Guild Storyline ftl. Horrible ending.
