Seriously, though, we know Gordon never talks, and they can't very well make Chell start talking after we played through Portal and she never said a word.

Chell had nothing to say, who could she talk to? GlaDOS?

She actually made pain sounds when she was shot or hurt I think... whereas Gordon doesn't.

I would have thought that with all the talking GLaDOS did, Chell might at least have tried to reason with her at some point.

She does make sounds of pain... but I don't think that means much. I am pretty sure I have at least heard Gordon grunt once or twice.

Gordon does talk. He orders scientists, security guards and rebels. Chell does talk, or at least the copy of her brain does
