If Gordon had a voice, who would he sound like in your opinion?

Would he sound like G-man(sinister, old, & creepy voice), Vin Diesel(deep voice), A girly gay voice, A southern accent, Arnie Austrian accent, Kliener's voice, or any one else you can think of....

Well he did spend a lot of time in Austria prior to getting the job at Black Mesa, so I can picture him with an Austrian accent. ;)
 
I would picture him with deep voice but calm voice. Although if he was to speak, if his voice like the coolest voice ever, then id be disappointed. His voice would need to be meaningful and demanding. But Valve will never have speak however.
 
His voice would be very very very high like a girl. Thats why he never talks, cuz people make fun of him.

Part of me would love it to be the Dick van Dyke "Oi'm a Cockernee, but struth Oi grew ap in Austraaleah, guv'na!" voice.

Yeah but we are just saying if he was to speak for himself what would he sound like, although it is pointless because he will never speak =D

I think he had a voice that was belong to Sean Connery.
 
hmhm... Here are some possible candidates:
Samuel L. Jackson: "And you will know my name is The Freeman, when i lay my crowbar upon you!"
Keanu Reeves: "Im wont tell how it's going to end. Im going to tell you, how it's going to begin"

Of course, it would be a great shock that Gordon would transform from a mute to a never-shut-up romantic hero.

This is an interesting subject.

Freeman, to me, is very analytical, and calm. Not a buff action hero.

He's a person who's got the brains to analyse and make the best of a situation. But at the same time, he's obviously not a narrowminded person up in the clouds with his education, he's highly capable of adapting to different and difficult situations, which Half-Life 1 & 2 prove.

The logical puzzles further adds to this stance. Fighting through an enemy squad to him is just like a puzzle, before the fight he analyses what he needs to do and keep doing it throughout the battles. Like playing chess to him

I don't know where his battle training comes from but this is an inevitable part of the game aspect and he might have a history of gun interest and technical things, maybe as a kid he'd always open stuff up to look at how it worked on the inside. Gordon is a person with an intense fascination for the technical aspect of things. How the little details put it all together.

The only situation where he feels threatened and afraid is where he's incapable of logically analyzing the situation, such as the encounters with G-man, sudden stuff where there's no idea. It's just not in his nature to be afraid and terrified. If he as a kid would encounter a snake, he'd just look at it, try and understand its situation, then go away.

Because of his intense logical look on things, he's not a good ladies man, he doesn't notice any of alyx's obvious signs of interest, and he doesn't think of it because he's busy analysing the situations they're in. He fancies her, but makes sure it doesn't sacrifice the grasp on the situation.

If gordon would speak, it'd not be a lot, and it'd be concise, only the most important information compressed to a single sentence. He's a thinker, not a speaker, and these aspects make him a great soldier and tactical leader

His voice? really hard to come with a good answer.. some kind of a mixture between christian bale, bill (from kill bill), or maybe something along the lines of the main character in 24?

Yeah i think you have got it spot on there, Valve dont have him speak to make you think like you are Gordon Freeman, but also because, that is his character. But like you said, if it was to speak, it would only be at the most appropriate time, and it would sort of sum up everything of that current situation, but only with a few words or a small sentence.

But yeah, if he was to speak, i think a Jack Bower sort of voice would suffice, because he sounds so cool! =D

Also that translation came up like this for me, "Hey you assclowns! To help me! Hay foreign that tries to have sex with my head here! " :P
