It also sounds like you've got it mostly planned out already. Pick a mobo with a good integrated RAID controller for SATA (preferrably with NCQ) and pick up a couple of the newer Raptor's from WD (WD740), put them in RAID 0, and voila, ~150 of the fastest GB this side of the server segment.

I have a similar one. You need a socket 940 motherboard for that 64 bit AMD processor, you can't buy any old motherboard, and you must purchase ecc registered RAM.

ya theres a lot of minor stuff you might not be aware of, ask someone who knows and they will explain to you that if u want a good gaming rig youll go wth duel channel ram rather than variety ram, or 9800pro rather than 9600se, stuff like this is what you probably dont know, but some of the people here do. i started to learn myself by asking and posting. rabies is a cool friend of mine who helped me wit my shit, and still is. so im shure someone here or myself can help you.
