I was playing the Leyawiin Recommendation quest for the Mages Guild, and I entered the fort and got the amulet, I was supposed to encounter that other mage, but he went unconscious from enemies, and I had to run.. The quest pointer points back to the city so I go and try to give the damn crazy ladeh the amulet, but it seems I must fight this damn evil mage, so I wait 3 days for him to respawn, but oh surprise, he respawns in the fort behind the door to the room where the amulet was, and oh lucky me, "You need a key to open this door and it can not be picked with a lockpick."

SO either I have to RESTART MY 26 HOUR CHARACTER or BETHESDA HAS TO SEND ME SOME FORM OF CHEATCODES FOR THE 360 VERS(I.e. noclip or such)!

I emailed'em yesterday for help, hope they replies soon..

Because.. No Leyawiin Recommendation = No Arcane University = No enchantments = No Spellmaking!

Mutley, the guy who spawned with the key, a stupid marauder, does NOT respawn, seeing as he is not a "quest character" in the sense that he just goes unconscious.

And Spicy Tuna, ty for that totally useless post but indeed it does, but the 360 vers gives me far prettier graphics and more stable FPS with the pretty graphics than my shitty comp.

When a "GOTY" vers comes out, i.e. in a year or so I'd guess, I'll have a new Vista or atleast DX10-based computer, that'll be able to run it well <3
 
I'm at 320, but that's because for some reason my game continued to count from my previous character which was around 100.:)
 
Damn, that sucks.

I hate it when there's a show-stopping bug/puzzle/whatever in a game...

It happened to me in KOTOR on Manaan, I was underwater about to blow up the kolto harvesting thing, and the prompt on the machine kept giving errors, and then the submarine disappeared for no reason...
I tried every approach possible until I just finally started over.

Yeah, my post was useless too... but I'm just expressing my sympathy for your situation.

In a way, he has a point. The Construction Set, along with access to .ini/.cfg files and such make the PC version much more interesting for even the slightly ambitious adventurers out there.

That said, the 360 version pwns the PC version for people without top of the line kit in their rig. So its all relative really. :)

But Gargantou: aw man...that really does suck! The Arcane University is not something to be missed! I am loving the weapon enchantment! I haven't had this much fun with weaponry since Dark Cloud 2(PS2)--aka Dark Chronicle for you non-USA types!

Hopefully you have an old save lying around. Restarting is a lousy b1tch...;(
 
I'm restarting from scratch, I guess that's kinda good because I got the unicorn killed and apparently that doesn't respawn <3

My new character is a lil different too.
Magic speciality, Strenth and Intelligence as main attributes and then a bunch of magic shiet and blade+sneak.. No armor main skill.. considering if I should restart again..

Unicorn does respawn providing you have ridden it before, it'll appear in the stables of the next town you visit. But maybe I shouldn't tell you that now.
 
I hadn't ridden it, it was raped by two minotaurs and a bear near the grove.:p
But ty anyway, good to know for this playthrough.:)
 
There's a bear near the Grove? :O I haven't found one yet. :(
 
No there isn't, but that ugly tree lady spawns them damn black ****** bears you know.
 
You mean... there is a spell that can spawn a bear? :O I want that spell.

Wait dont! There is a key on his body or someplace close. I experienced the same thing, it is supposed to be like that. I found the key though. I will mourn for you if you have deleted your game.
 
No, this was a bug, I found the key the FIRST time I went into the dungeon, it spawned on an enemy, but when I came back the next time, the enemies didn't respawn.
And the fact that the quest pointer points towards the city when I should fight that guy in the dungeon also seems to be quite a bug, I restarted now anyway..
Considering restarting again because I can't decide what skills to pick..

What do you guys think a conjuraction/destruction/stealth/blade guy should pick for armor? Light?

Light armor would be good for moving quickly, and your build doesn't seem to have much interest in wasting time.

P.S. I'm willing to take a look at your save file, just email it to
contact.jpg

P.S.S. If you ever want to revert to a previous auto-save or quicksave, it automatically backs up your previous one in the "...\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves" folder. That has saved me a couple hours so far. Just rename the file from .bak to .ess (and delete/rename the existing quicksave.ess)
 
Ty for the want to help phantomdesign, but I have the 360 vers, otherwise I'd just noclip through them damn door.
And besides that, I've removed my ol' save now and restarted a new : )
TY anyway tho.
