I'm Sick Of It!

I have Rise of Nations + Expansion (Legal versions) and the sound doesn't work, it never has, I'm getting sick of it seeing as how I play this game alot, so I went into the sound folder for the game, and when I try to play the sound it says "Error Missing Codec" I don't understand why the hell this game didn't come with the codecs, but can anyone help me? Tell me the solution/possible codecs... please.

I don't even know if the codecs are the problem, I just want to know the solution, I want sound!!!

Ok, that codec pack doesn't work......
