IMO: Half-life2 RETAIL will be released on Nov. 12

To time with the release of Prima's "Raising the Bar" book, Half-Life2 Retail and CE will be released on Nov. 12... this is my belief. Go on, flame away, but understand this: In order to keep things fair, valve wants Steam copies and retail copies to be unlocked at the same time and for people TO PLAY IT AT THE SAME TIME INSTEAD OF PEOPLE WAITING A THE STORE FOR RETAIL.... so they will release locked retail copies on Nov.12 then unlock ALL [steam and retail] copies on Nov.16 ... makes perfect sense to me. If not Nov.12, then some date before the 16th up to the 15th at the latest....

The release date is November 16th. It has been for a couple of weeks now. That date is set in stone and will not be broken.
