It all makes sense, no reason my hype died.

It twigged with me yesterday that Half Life 2 really wasnt why I was hyped at all.


Pre-leak I wanted Half Life 2 so bad, it was literally my life for those 5 months - then the release date and leak came and went and my hype just died, completely died.

Then at e3 when they unvieled CS:S and it all made sense, thats what I was so hyped for - I didnt think HL was that great and knew HL2 would rock but its not really my thing (never did like the whole headcrab, zombies and zen thing) but at hart I was hoping for CS to be remade!

It all clicks so well now, soon Ill have CSS and Ill be happy and you guys will have HL2 and youll be happy

What...? How could you actually say that? Even though relatively little information about it has been released as of late, Half-Life 2 is still on a lot of people's minds. If you say mention HL2 in a conversation, everybody knows what that is. If you mention Rome Total War, you'll still get a good chunk of folks that say "Huh?".

Is HL2's hype as great as it was when first announced? Of course not. But to say it's being beaten like a red headed step child... Well, you couldn't be more wrong.

Okay imagine if Halflife2's MP were something like NS, Combines VS Resistance and each team would have a worker class to build different structures like turrets and com-centers, pillboxes, etc... throughout a war-torn city like city17. Resource gathering would be replaced by holding special chokepoints like the Warhammer DoW game. The possibilities are limitless

Yeah and you got players willing to wait entire matches in the ready room for a slot to open instead of going alien. Next NS patch better balance it more used to be aliens are the best, now marines are the best.

The way ns is supposebly supposed to be is that the marines need good leadership(comm) to win and the aliens need good teamwork.

Calm down there buddy. Valve has to prove us wrong, that they do indeed have a MP - and so far, they haven't. Which only indicates to the fact that there is no MP other than CS.

Let's see, they drastically underestimated how long it would be until their game was complete, delaying it for a year. They kept the source code on a computer connected to the freaking internet and got the code and alpha leaked. They've delayed repeatedly. They put the HL2 script into the freakin CS:Source cache. They've had terrible PR throughout this whole time... I mean, come on!

As much as I like the guys, and as much as I liked Half-Life, they are not the wisest guys on Earth.

Hmm....agreed, Valve aren't perfect....but I really don't think they'd be stupid enough not to have HL2 mp. Come on, they obviously want to keep it quiet so that it's a surprise when the game's released. Why is that so difficult to believe??! Just because they haven't revealed anything doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Considering they listen to the community, reply to emails etc....I think they've got the message that we want an original mp game....with the manipulator, etc. I really don't think they'd cop out and just tag on CS:S as the mp. I am certain valve will give us what we're hoping for.
