well i dont know if the title to the thread was right, but some asshole actually bought the domain (gabesnamehere).com (DO NOT GO) and put GAY Pr0n in it...

isnt that sort of illegal? some asshole put it on the steam forums, i felt like beating the shit out of him, besides my parents were behind me and saw the whole thing... they should really bringt that shi* down... it even has an HL2 header...

just wondering, i dont know if its legal to use other peoples name for that sort of stuff...

DO NOT GO INTO THE WEBPAGE
YOUVE BEEN WARNED

its not illegal. you cant copyright a person name. theres probably a ton of gabe newells, each of them has an equal right to have a .com.

damn... well it mentions Half life 2... i just hope ppl dont type gabe newell in google and get that shit...

i doubt it, its like 0 on googles page ranks.

amdrew_e1 it was posted here too.

I believe it was some idiot forum member from hl2 world

Not illegal, anyone can do it. I can do it for George Bush right now. (Little stops me from proceeding.)
But yes, very wrong too.

I guess it's like whitehouse.com.....

(Don't go BTW, it's .gov for the correct site)

There was a story back in '98 or so where kids were going to that during a research assignment and were pissed that it wasn't for the REAL white house, I just wanted to trap them in a burning bus and watch them slowly burn. HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE NOT TO KNOW ABOUT .GOV AND .COM.

Anyways, they can't do a damn thing about the gabe newell site, there was some company that got their name stolen and turned into a site, it was a flash movie or a middle finger going around the room and it was playing some song where it was like "We stole your f'ing name." It was funny as hell.

All the Bush-hating, are you people going along with a bandwagon or something?

hating bush is used to often,, anyway,, even if they do hate bush,,

its more apropriately, like hating puppet , or the man who does the speech's :P

they / I really mean I hate the fact that bush is quite happy to be a muppet to all of the higher players in the world, who have more of a say than any 'official' leader of country.

I promise you no more so than Kerry.

Anyways, what "higher players" tell Bush what to do? Maybe you can list names and instances. You sound more delusional than rational.

Keep the effing thread on topic, if I wanted to read about how people hate Bush I'd go to any of the 1000 threads about crapenheit 9/11.

Sorry 'bout that.

I read an article in discover magazine telling how google organizes it search results. It organizes them by the number of links to a site, and how the topic is associated to other topics. For example, this site can be found by typing "valve" into google and looking through the results.

Interesting.

I think it's also organized by the number of hits each site receives, sort of a measure of online popularity if you may.

That's why you hardly get geocities and other random personal webpages when you search for stuff, I think they also get a lower rating therefore making them display near the end of the search results.
