Map of first 2 chapters

I'm trying to make a HL2 map. Here's Point Intersesion and Red Letter Day.

Interesting. But, the game probably won't map out correctly. HL1 didn't map out to scale, because they didn't make an architectural map of it, only design sketches. Good luck, though!

I was actually very surrprised. It took miniaml tweeking to get the maps to line up with the 2 trainstation visits but that was probably only because of the nature of me sticking them together. I do have my doubts about getting the lab to line up with the trainstation on the second visit.

Well, I do remember that in the beta mappack, there was a map that was actually a scaled-down constructed model of the entire City 17 game map. It was, obviously, for a different version of the game, but they had the highway, Borealis, the Citadel, everything. So, maybe this will work. I'd be interested in seeing how this progresses.

Really? That's cool. You just got my hopes up. Although I will have to be lazy on some parts that are just too fidley.

I did something very much like that in this thread. I believe that it's possible to get the outdoor areas to line up exactly. They did tend to make the indoor areas take up less space from the outside than from the inside. That is, the Tenements building would extend into the alley you go through before you get to the playground if you lined it up. The building is the right general shape and everything, just larger than it should be.

You can get rid of the perspective and get a flat top-down view by using the console command "cl_leveloverview <number for scale>".

Hmm. Maybe I'll get to this and map out more. It was fun and it really is impressive how thing almost-match-up.

Yeah. If I have permission, I'll post a YSI link to the map...but I won't if that would be against the rules, since it is, in fact, related to the beta.
