"MILES mss dll" problem. Pleez help

I have fully installed half-life 2 and registered it.
I click on the icon, it loads up stream, then it loads the game.
the "valve" logo shows up, then it goes to a blurry screen that says "loading" in the bottom right corner. Its pauses there, it does nothing, ive let it wait for 20 minutes, and it does nothing.
so i pressed ALT+CONTROL+DELETE, and it brings me to my desktop, and it says something along the lines of "MILES mss dll error"
Can anyone help me?

Ok buddy i had this problem and i've fixed myne.

basically go into Start>C drive> Windows> File Mss32.dll, make a copy of that and put it on ure desktop, then leave the oringal in its place. Minimize it.

Then Open Up ure steam folder and look for the file Mss.Dll ( it shud have 3.0.0.0 undeneath in small print.

Maxmize the windows folder with the file mss32.dll then drag it in the other folder and replaxe Mss.dll ( 3.0.0.0.0) and BINGO It shud now work

I have the same problem, for C-S:Source, HL2 and Lost Coast and have tried your method but it wont work. Any other ideas?
