Anyone think we will ever be able to beat the record?

Most users ever online was 5,064, 03-10-2003 at 10:07 AM.

i only see about and average of 250 people on everyday, but who knows.

care to take the challenge?

The only reason that even happened was because Gabe Newell himself posted a thread here. I doubt it'll ever happen again unless he posts another thread.

Push it to the limit.

It was the heat of the moment.

2 of the most used songs ever in a montage.

You just made that up

No, I didn't.

Yes, you did.

You'll never know.

I suppose you are correct.

What was the thread? Could you link it?

That was because of the HL2 source code theft. No way are we going to break that ever again.

Really? I always thought it was the Gabe thread, Ennui...

Constitutes as a forum game. Refer to official HL2.net lock graph.

It was, look at the date of the first post of this thread, then look at the date of the most users record.

Two things happened on that day: Gabe Newell confirmed with a post on this website that HL2 Source Code had been stolen, then CNN immediately did a report on it, with several seconds of Half-life2.net filling the screen, thus a ton of people logged on to this site to view the post.

I didnt know there was a 'Gabe' thread. Apparently he has had 8 posts...
Only one of which I can find.

So bscly we have to stage a theft of Ep3.

Just reset it, can't be that hard...

Or can it?

Gabe would have to post something truly epic here like, I don't know, making a thread announcing HL3 for that stat to be topped.

or hl2.net says they have an exclusive episode 3 trailer and you can only see it by being registered :)

Or Gabe posts and says he'll pick at random a few registered users to become a beta testers for Episode 3.

It won't have the same effect. Think about it: HL2.net came on CNN. How can you top that?

If we turn HL2.net into a part of a elaborate internet meme.
