Post parents, for some reason, don't realize that around the age that kids mostly play video games, is when their maturing, their testosterone is skyrocketing and they would be getting "more violent" anyway, with or without video games.

Football makes you more violent than HL2...
 
I think games calms people down, it's a good way to relieve stress (Killing things with explosives) and it keeps you in the house away from the often scary ventures of outside, ooooo, I HATE that word! But seriously, It keeps you occupied, rather then going out, joining a gang, buying some cocaine, then getting to sell some, becoming a druglord, being sent to kill some family, not doing it, then, being gunned down inside your own mansion because you didn't kill the family! Now, is that what you want? if you don't play games, thats what will happen.

The moral of the story is: If you don't play games, YOU WILL DIE

Rebel Medic, just remember, in most countries your criminal record gets sealed at 18 and you get a fresh start. He pulls any more shit like, “pay for your food” go shoplifting. He takes away your games, burgle a house. He hits you, attack him in the night with a bat while he sleeps. And when Social Services speak to you just tell them the truth. You stole food cause your dad wont feed you, you stole games that your dad stole from you and he taught you that hitting is how you get what you want by hitting you whenever you didn’t do what he told you to.

Hmm, you should go to the cops and ask 'em to monitor your house or something. Or borrow a videocamera and put it on a spot that covers a lot of indoor ground. If something happens there, you've got it on tape. Maybe some tape recorders too?

Then go to the police with all the evidence, because it sounds like your household is better off without your dad.

That's Confusicious style of thinking. I say: respect your parents, but don't obey them just because they're your parents. Especially if they tell you to jump off a bridge. Just because they're your parents, doesn't mean they're necessarily wiser than you.

If your parents hit you with unnecessary force, they should goto jail.

It's true, but I think developing parts of Asia are due some sort of cultural unheaval. It's already begun, with parents saying things like: "You can't goto work in Shanghai, you've got to stay here and help with the family shop! You can't dishonour your family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111"

A lot more people are persuing their own dreams rather than their parents dreams. Which is how it should be.
After you've hit the kid the 12th time for not getting an A-grade in his exams, it kind of reinforces the point that violence is not the solution to the problem.
