The other day I came home from school and wen't shopping with my mum. I hadn't aquired much money at the time and I said "Sure, I'll come, I want to put a copy of Half-Life 2 on lay buy". Next thing I know my dad yells out "No your not, I was watching an artical on TV and they said that Computer Games cause children to become violent". Now admitedly I had become a bit more aggresive over the past year or so, but I also had turned 13 in the last year. I'm really F**ked off and I don't know what to do. I hate my dad and i have since I was about 4 after I got into trouble after I went walk about at a zoo. I know you all Love HL2 and play PC games. So basicly I want an oppinion and also want to know if you have became 'aggresive'.

I want to conquer the world since i played HL2... really.

But nothing other than that.

Do not believe the government/politics/lawer/any other form of buisnessyness. Because, 50% of the time, they are lying!!!

Mwahahahahahaha, LAZER BEAM :D

I'm not that all aggresive, I just get angry when people ask me a line up questions, and i just want to finish the Q&A session with my parents

I remember reading the papers today they had an article on how criminals used techniques they learned on CSI to evade forensic police, I don't see anyone clamouring to take the program off the air :imu:

Well, you know what? I think the media is lying too.

Yeah, all you need is a bunch of Combine aliens to help you out.

no more aggresiveness from me....although the hormones. But honestly, I'm 20..I have hormones that release from beatin the shit out of things. It's how it works.

No....really?

Not to sound insulting (oops, too late), Rebel_medic, but your dad sounds like a ridiculous moron. 'The TV said games are bad! No son, you cannot have a game!'

He is obsessed with hindering me, one time at a LAN party I hosted, a table was 1 inch/2cm above a double be I was sleeping on and he comes in, places my LAN cable on a different table and says not to have the table above the bed or the cable on the floor as it could be a saftey risk!!
Hilarious and queer

PS sulkodds no offense taken, I hate him

I find it ironic how he believes that the video game media will make you copy whatever actions you perform in said game, yet he has blatantly repeated whatever he has heard on television.

And he is also hyper aggresive without games. he picked me off the bed and dropped me on wood. he kicked me up the arse (literally) for not picking up everything at once, he pushed me down onto the wood floor because I said I wouldn't take the bus to school. HE IS THE AGRESSIVE ONE

Tell that fool to lighten up and not believe everything he reads and hears on the TV of all places.

Tell him to consult you before he starts dictating your hobbies and interests.

Its like when my dad said "You're not going to LA, people die in LA" so I said "People also die in cars and hospitals and old peoples homes, give me a break"

I love your avatar. Oooooh how good Trapdoor was.

Once again the_rebel_medic, without wanting to cause offence your dad doesn't seem like the nicest of sorts. Personally I don't feel more violent after eight years of playing computer games. Except maybe when I'm actually playing them.

My dad would be more concerned why I have to put a $50 game on layaway.

Suggestion: Buy the game, ignore your dad, whenever he realises you've bought the game anyway, tell him his excuse is made up by media and that they have nothing to prove, but you have (check previous post).

Call social services and tell them to make your dad go to prison.

If you lived in Finland he probably would.

He does actually sound more like the scary violent abusive type that you don't want to go 'stfu' to.

If I ever said 'stfu' to my dad, I would be hospitalized with massive internal injuries.

Oh globbits! :D

I find it quite upsetting (for want of a better word) that so many people resent or hate their fathers. It worries me.

grr I hate when people do this :flame:

And I also hate people that start their sentences with "I saw on TV..." :hmph:

ask him if he believes everything he sees on tv.
if the answer is yes get new parents. if its no, he loses. easy huh.

When I went to the Child Services in the phone book he threw it at me, hard. HE IS A PSYCHOPATH

Sounds like it. Throwing the book at you is the police's job. Heh.

Sorry.

You sound like you have a basic 'Angry Dad'.

I reccommend asian parents. Most just make you emotionally guilty, which you can compress into a little ball and hurl at people.

Indeed. :)

Paint your walls pink. Read fashion magazines. Decorate your room with teddy bears and pony figurines. Put on a lisp. Freak out into a teary spectacle over the smallest thing (like chipping your toast). Speak out against contact sports because they're rough and claim that you bruise easily. Eat tofu. And every Friday night, go out and say that you're just gonna go hang with the girls.

Should you pull this off right, your father will be desparately forcing you to play some aggressive, man-killing, FPS action.

let me get this straight ...you hate your dad because you went wandering off at a public park when you were 4 yrs old ...man he sounds like a monster :upstare:

I think his undying rage is more the product of him being 13.

cant remember ..far too long ago :)

hey watched something on the hurricane the other day ..a father was reunited with his premature baby who he didnt know had survived ..talk about a blubbering mess ...most fathers are like that btw

dropped off my infant son at daycare this morning (my first time, my wife usually takes him) ...he started crying as soon as I put him down ...left with a lump in my throat. I'm sure your father (rebel medic) feels the same way
