Hey guys ive been shopping around recently looking for some good price for pc bits (yea i build em myself i like the challenge) and now HL2 is GOLD OMFG YESS! :) :naughty: ive been in overdrive trying to find a good site for finding a new graphics card cheap (yes im a tight arse) my current is a 9800pro and i know its good but im used to having my games run nice and high with AA and AF which i cant do that on HL2 (with vsync on) cos of frame drops but i came across this webby.

It has some rocking deals! so im not gunna be mean and just keep it to myself :) although i might and sell it to your guys for a profit :P

heres a linky

But im also trying to decide if im gunna get a 6800GT or x800pro... i cant make up my mind!!

How reliable are they? They don't look too professional from what I can see...

They have just started up (2 weeks ago) and they have already sent out one of their "lower" spec'd system builds and this guy said that its well good! and they got it out quick... so hes singing praises.

so im tempted to give em a go and if they are that cheap :) its twice as good!

vsync caps your framerate at your monitor's refresh rate effectively eliminating the 'tearing' you get while playing, especially noticecable when strafing facing parallel to a wall. but this algorithm costs performance. ive noticed in several games that my minimum framerate gets lowered with vsync on.

and to poster: a 6800gt is the better choice than a x800pro, unless you get a VIVO x800pro and unlock those extra pipelines and overclock to XT speeds.

if the tearing bothers you, then yes. if it doesn't, theres no reason to turn it on.
