Hello,

just one question from Croatia.
In, let's say, 90% of cases when I run HL2 on my PC, I get a message

"Node graph out of date - rebuilding".

After that, I (Freeman) can move around, but all other characters are frozen, nobody makes a single move.
On that sdreen where I can submit commands I can see something like "Load map and build node first", something like that.....

How can I affect that? I believe my PC is "strong" enough to play HL2, as I said, it doesn't happen each time.

I would appreciate your help a lot!

Thank you!

Tommy

No, this happens with my completely legitimate copy of Half-life 2 as well - but only in GMod.

HL2, like HL1, uses a "node"(waypoint) system for AI. Normally a map is accompanied by a .nod file, but if such a file doesn't exist, HL2 will build the .nod file itself. This doesn't normally take longer than a few seconds or minutes. After it's done the map should play normally, but apparently yours doesn't.

dont be fooled - its obviously warez

i mean - duh :|

For the legal version, validating your HL2 cache should fix the problem. For the illegal version, buying the game legally should fix the problem :).

WAREZ ALERT WAREZ ALERT. It shouldn't happen more than 0.1% of the time on a legit copy.

Go on to the Steam forums and search for 'Validate' or 'Validation'. Steam can check your copy of HL2 over the net to make sure you have all the components instalkled properly. Thats assuming you have a legitimate copy. If not, your screwed

I get this all of the time on Garry's Mod. I believe it may have happened once on Half Life 2, but I can't remember. Anyways validate the files, and if that doesn't work uninstall Garry's Mod(I don't know how that would help, but I only see that glitch in G-Mod and it might have something to do with it.)

If not, well your screwed.

i'll say it once people
IT'S A WAREZ COPY - STOP BEING NICE TO SCUM LIKE HIM
end of transmission

Just let him post a screenshot where he already has his hud. That's always infallable proof.

Hmm. If it happens in the original HL2 maps then I don't know why.

But if you're getting it in custom maps, then I DO know why.

problems that you'll get if u have a cracked version:
- AI disables when loading a saved game
- node graph must be rebuilt when loading new maps
- corrupted hl2fonts.ttf file, (big Q instead of crosshairs)
- one day...maybe far off, maybe tomorrow....the FBI will break down your door, arrest you, and put u in jail, where u will get married to a man named jim.

And Red Aux bar!

That happend to me to. I got it when i bught my new computer.
The problem for me dissapeard after validating... But the problem was that the Ai got turned off. Simply enter console and enable it that way.
